The Commentary of Rabsel Kunga on the Work of Lines and Colors. The Commentary of Rabsel Kunga on the Work of Lines and Colors is present. Om, may there be auspiciousness! Now, I will explain the meaning of the rituals of lines and colors in a little more detail. Here, there are two works: lines and colors. Lines also have two types: celestial lines and terrestrial lines. The first also has four aspects: material, measurement, blessing, and method of application. First, the material for the thread: for peaceful deities, the lotus rhizome is used, and for wrathful deities, the large root of a field is said to be used. However, in common, pure cotton or wool, called "the value of a hero," meaning one should not argue about the price, but buy it and have a sixteen-year-old maiden with good qualities spin the thread of five or twenty-five colors. As it is said in the "Illusion of Peaceful Vajra Sequence": "The lotus rhizome changes color, sixteen mudras are well spun, one thread has five colors, know it to be the nature of wisdom." And in the "Wrathful Deity Sequence": "The great root of Vasuta, the three bodies of vows, wisdom, and five." Here, Vasuta is said to be the vow, and the large root is the material of wisdom. It is permissible to use cotton or wool in common for peaceful and wrathful deities, as it is said in the "Phurba Lotus Sequence": "Then begin to draw the mandala lines, one with the signs of wisdom, changes the color of flawless cotton or wool, and spins five colors." And in the "Authentic Mandala Ritual of Humkara": "The material for the line is new cotton cloth, blessed with mantras and then spun." Second, the measurement. The length is twice the mandala. If the mandala is one cubit, then the thread for drawing the mandala is two cubits long. Here, regarding the meaning of the mandala that needs to be doubled, Shradha identifies it as the root line and takes its double as the measurement including the tips of various vajras, considering the height of the Hayagriva gate to be one measure. While Khenpo of Phrengba considers the mandala to be the arrow line and takes its double as the measurement excluding the garland of light in the charnel ground, considering the height of the Hayagriva gate to be three measures. Here, if the height of the Hayagriva gate is taken as two measures, then according to the latter, it is consistent with the side that has a charnel ground. If the side does not have a charnel ground, then according to the former, the doubled horn tip or the top of the lower base wheel is not enough. If according to the latter, two gate heights are not sufficient, but...

However, the statement to make it twice as long is to match the key of the mandala. In order to insert all the thread ends outside the garland of light, it should not be longer than the size of the surrounding area except for the part held by the teacher and the thread maker. Otherwise, the circular line does not need to depend on the single line. The three sizes of the horse-neck door, two sizes, or one size, whichever is done is fine. As long as it is equal to the size of the corner tip of the lower base, the need can be met, but it should not be shorter than this. The thickness is one-twentieth of the door, which is the same as the line of the wall, which is one-fifth of a unit. As it is said in the "Galpo Union Mandala Ritual": "The length is twice the mandala, and the thickness is one-twentieth of the door." Third, visualize the threads as the five heroic ones, and encourage them with the burning state of the Buddhas invited in the space in front. The nature of the five wisdoms of the Bodhisattva who is engaged in union appears in the form of five lights, hitting the thread rope, and visualize it as becoming the nature of the five wisdoms. First, separate the five threads, and then twist them into one strand, etc. It is important to cherish doing according to their respective mandala rituals. These are also as stated in the "Union Mandala Ritual": "Place in a precious skull container, generate with the mantra of the family. mati tra ma hum (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,mati tra ma hum,玛德 扎 玛 吽) om ah hum (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,om ah hum,嗡 阿 吽) Use the gaze of the eyes to summon, invite the Buddha families. With the iron hook of the burning sun and moon, visualize the two as one. Make them happy through offerings and praises, recite the mantra of the main deity and tighten." And in the "Peaceful Vajra Sequence" it says: "Properly place in a clean container, on the cushions of the burning sun and moon, from the heart emit words equal to the number of letters, invite the ten directions and four times, make offerings and pray. The wisdom of union is equal to the number, and the blessings of the three vajras must be integrated. First make the nature the same, then offer a little and observe." As it is said, this is the blessing of the common deity. Fourth, the method of inserting is: visualize the Vajra King as the deity, with the consort or disciple as the consort, recite "dzah dzah (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,dzah dzah,札 札)", the line is the white light arising from the nature of bodhicitta.
