After contemplating, hold the thread with your thumb and middle finger pointing downwards, twist it tightly, and whip it upwards towards the sky, visualizing it transforming into the palace of wisdom above. Then, pointing downwards, whip it into the space, visualizing it transforming into the worldly palace below. As stated in the 'Galpo': 'The sky thread with five wisdoms, transforms the upper world into a mandala. The earth thread also transforms the lower world, into a great mandala.' Regarding the direction of circumambulation, such as 'The method of whipping is that the teacher is in the west.' etc. From the 'Peaceful Thread Ritual of De Du', composed by the teacher: 'The teacher is in the direction of the water deity, the disciple is in the direction of Indra, first whip the Brahma thread. Yama, the lord of death, is in the direction of the Yaksha, whip the second Brahma thread. From the direction of the fire deity and the Bhuta, whip the eastern thread. The wind deity and the unreal direction, similarly whip the western direction. The teacher's wind deity direction is the northern thread, the fire deity and the unreal direction is the south. Similarly whip the two corner threads.' Also, as stated in the 'Lotus Sequence': 'Then the teacher is in the direction of the water deity, the corpse is in the direction of Indra, whip the sky thread, the first Brahma thread.' Until 'The two corner threads should also be known.' as stated. Further in the text it says: 'Hold the vajra bell and whip, the sounds should also be released. This is the sequence of whipping the wisdom thread.' Therefore, holding the vajra bell, whip without confusing the directions. Regarding the manner of walking, as stated by Nagpopa: 'The wise should walk backwards.' Similarly, for the Brahma thread and the side thread, walk clockwise backwards, for the two corner threads, walk in the direction of circumambulation, there is no need to walk backwards. Secondly, regarding the thread itself, there are four aspects: material, measurement, blessing, and method of whipping. Firstly, regarding the material, in the 'Illusion' it says: For peaceful practices, use silk or cotton, for wrathful practices, use intestines from the province, in other cases, it is said that corpses or hair can also be used. As stated in the 'Heruka Galpo': 'Make the thread from the hair of the dead, or make the thread from vasuta.' Also, as stated in the 'Peaceful Sequence': 'Nine strands with three colors, spun from silk or cotton, represent body, speech, and mind.' etc. However, for both peaceful and wrathful practices, use clean silk or cotton, spun by a qualified woman, twisted into three or nine strands.

Do it like that. The size is also the same as before. In the Padma Sequence, it says: After that, start making the line. Pure white cotton thread without faults. Bestowed by a qualified master. Very smooth and without knots. The length is twice the mandala. The thickness is one-twentieth of the door. Thus it is said. The blessing is: Visualize the threads as three seed syllables. From the three places of the Tathagatas, three rays of white, red, and blue light emanate and dissolve into the thread. Therefore, it itself becomes the nature of the three kayas or the nine families. In Galpo it says: Three lines entwined are body, speech, and mind. Thus it is said. Stretch the blessed thread, visualize the master and disciple as the father and mother deities, and from the union, take the thread with the nature of the vow, body, speech, and mind, place the vajra bell, and then draw the eight great lines like the original line according to the direction of rotation and order. In the Padma Sequence it says: After putting down the vajra bell, the order of drawing is as above. Thus it is said. Also, for the sake of temporary convenience, there is no conflict in drawing two corner lines before the four sides. In the eighth chapter of the Vajra Tent it says: First is the line of Brahma, second is the line of the corner, third is the line of the four sides. The line should be drawn very well. Because it is said so. Also, when drawing the sky and earth lines, one should avoid the faults of the line breaking, falling off, and direction errors with a careful attitude. In the Essence it says: The wise master should do it carefully. Thus it is said. In the Vajra Sequence it says: If the line breaks, the master will die. If the direction is wrong, both will decline. One will be on the path of interruption. Therefore, the wise should do it carefully. Thus it is said. In the production sequence of the Chakrasamvara mandala it also says: If the line breaks, it is bad for the master, if the corner line is damaged, the disciple will die, if the length is wrong, one will get sick, if the direction is confused, there will be faults. Thus it is said. Also, in the sequence it says: After doing everything completely, with meditation combined with wisdom, wisdom dissolving into wisdom is a definite offering, leave with the Samaya mudra मुཿ, after that there is no fault. Therefore, for the two lines, in the manner of dedication, visualize wisdom dissolving into wisdom and make offerings, make the Samaya mudra, and recite Vajra Muḥ.
