Because even in the realm of ordinary beings, there exists an undifferentiated nature of reality, without any distinction of before or after, this state is inconceivable. For there is no class of sentient beings that does not fully contain the wisdom of the Tathagata. However, due to the clinging of consciousness, the wisdom of the Tathagata is not manifest. Once freed from the clinging of consciousness, the all-knowing wisdom, the self-arisen wisdom, will arise without obstruction. O sons of the Victorious Ones, it is like this: Suppose there is a great silken cloth equal in size to the three-thousandfold great thousand world system. On that great silken cloth, the entire three-thousandfold great thousand world system is completely depicted. For example, the great encircling mountains are drawn to the size of the great encircling mountains, the great earth is drawn to the size of the great earth, the two-thousand intermediate world systems are drawn to the size of the two-thousand intermediate world systems, the thousand world systems are drawn to the size of the thousand world systems, the four-continent world systems are drawn to the size of the four-continent world systems, the great ocean is drawn to the size of the great ocean, Jambudvipa is drawn to the size of Jambudvipa, the eastern Videha is drawn to the size of the eastern Videha, the western Godaniya is drawn to the size of the western Godaniya, the northern Kuru is drawn to the size of the northern Kuru, Mount Meru is drawn to the size of Mount Meru, the celestial mansions that move on the earth are drawn to the size of the celestial mansions that move on the earth, the celestial mansions that move in the desire realm are drawn to the size of the celestial mansions that move in the desire realm, and the celestial mansions that move in the form realm are drawn to the size of the celestial mansions that move in the form realm. Then, some discerning individuals arose nearby, their eyes transformed into divine eyes, completely pure and radiant. With their divine eyes, they observed that this vast expanse of silk resided within the tiny dust of a minute particle, yet it was of no use to some sentient beings. They thought, 'Alas, I shall use the power and strength of great diligence to separate this dust of a minute particle, so that this vast expanse of silk may become sustenance for all beings.' Thus, with the power of great diligence, they used vajra-like fine particles to separate the dust of that minute particle, and as they wished, that vast expanse of silk became sustenance for all beings, and from every single remaining minute particle, they did the same. O sons of the Victorious Ones, likewise, the wisdom of the Tathagata's immeasurable wisdom, which is also the wisdom that can become sustenance for all sentient beings, enters without omission into the mind-streams of all sentient beings, and those mind-streams of sentient beings are also immeasurable like the wisdom of the Tathagata.' Thus it was said. Secondly, from the Uttaratantra: 'The body of the fully enlightened Buddha pervades, likewise, the nature of reality is undifferentiated, because of having the lineage, all embodied beings constantly possess the Buddha-nature.' The meaning of this verse is that all sentient beings, from beginningless time, constantly and uninterruptedly possess the ultimate Buddha-nature, because the body of the fully enlightened Buddha pervades and encompasses all phenomena, the nature of phenomena of samsara and nirvana is undifferentiated from Suchness, and all sentient beings possess the Tathagata-lineage, which is the naturally pure nature of the Dharmadhatu, capable of purifying obscurations. As stated in the Tathagatagarbha Sutra: 'O sons of the lineage, this is the nature of all phenomena, whether the Tathagatas appear or do not appear, these sentient beings constantly possess the Tathagatagarbha.'
