It is considered as capacity. Its explanation is, in the "Son's Sutra," it says, "'Lineage' refers to the seed-like capacity of the mind of the Sutra school, even in the stage of ordinary beings and learners, it refers to the seed that is completely decayed." The third view is that the uncontaminated Dharma that has existed in the mindstream since beginningless time is considered to be obtained through the nature of Dharma. The explanation is, the Sutra says, "The lineage of Bodhisattvas comes from beginningless time, which is the distinction of the six sense bases obtained through the nature of Dharma." Its meaning is, in the "Explanation of the Bodhisattva Grounds, Ocean of Clouds," it says, "The distinction of the six sense bases refers to the capacity to generate uncontaminated Dharma, which is the seed residing in the alaya consciousness." This seems to be Asanga's view. Furthermore, Vasubandhu considers lineage to be the root of virtue gathered by the affection of cause and time and wisdom. All of these are considered to be the views of the object proponents. The fourth view is divided into two: elaborating the views of others and establishing one's own view. First, most people agree that the defiled Dharma nature, the Tathagatagarbha, is the lineage, but there are many differences in the way of recognition. Ngok Lotsawa Chenpo and his followers consider lineage to be the emptiness that pervades the base, path, and result, not distinguished by qualities such as power, the self-nature pure emptiness, the part of non-affirming negation. Dharma King Sakya Pandita and others consider lineage to be distinguished by qualities such as power, and consider the lineage possessed by sentient beings to be provisional. Most readers of the Land of Snows consider lineage to be the recognition of the essence, the single part of self-nature pure. Je Phagmo Drupa and others consider those qualities such as power to be the realization of the qualities of the Dharmakaya. Panchen Jigme Drakpa and others consider lineage to be the qualities of the self-nature Dharmakaya. There are many such views. Secondly, here, as explained in the writings of Omniscient Dharma King Drime Ozer, Jonang Omniscient Great One Four Reliances, Rangjung Shab, etc., and in the unique insights of the great scholar Buton Rinpoche in the "General System of Tantras" regarding the explanation of the cause continuum, etc., the Mahayana

Regarding the explanation according to the uncommon system, there are two parts: the main topic and the supplementary categories of meaning. The first part has three points: a general explanation of the nature of the Tathāgatagarbha; a detailed explanation of its classification; and an incidental mention of how the Mantrayana tradition views it. The first point is: the nature of mind is primordially, by its very nature, completely pure; it abides without change in the essence of emptiness and clarity, unceasing and all-pervasive. This is the essence of the Sugatagarbha. As stated in the Samadhiraja Sutra: "Pure, clear, and luminous, undisturbed and unconditioned, is the essence of the Sugata. It is the Dharma-nature that has existed from the beginning." The second part has three points: the characteristics of the Garbha with defilements, its etymology, and its divisions. The first point is: that Suchness which is with defilements is also the nature of mind, the union of appearance and emptiness. Its essence is all-pervasive and its nature is immutable. The second point is: derived from the word Sugatagarbha (सुगतगर्भ). Su (सु) is a prefix. Gamḷ (गमॢ) is the root meaning "to go." Kta (क्त) is given. Ra (र) is what should be removed. Because the dirt is not wiped away, it is Sugata Pṛ (पृ) is the root meaning "to go." Gha (घ) is given. Ṛ (ऋ) increases. Ār (आर्) is added, and combined, Pāra (पार) means to spread. Therefore, it is Garbha, which is Sugatagarbha. The third part has four points: explaining the nature of the Garbha; showing how sentient beings possess it through three reasons; establishing its classification through ten aspects; and illustrating how it is obscured by defilements through metaphors. The first point is: The Uttaratantra states: "In this, there is nothing to be removed, nor is there anything to be established. Seeing reality in reality, one is liberated upon seeing reality." The meaning of this is: The Tathāgatagarbha, in terms of its Dharma-nature, has no defilements to be removed from the beginning, because its nature is self-purifying. The Tathāgatagarbha, in terms of its Dharma-nature, has no qualities to be newly acquired, because all qualities are spontaneously accomplished from the beginning. As stated previously: "Because it is pure and without afflictions, because it is a Dharma without distinctions, because it is spontaneously accomplished and without conceptualization." This is shown through four inconceivable abodes. Although this appears contradictory to those with conceptual minds, it is shown through metaphors to demonstrate that it is not contradictory. In the explanation of the Uttaratantra, regarding the meaning of the vast Avatamsaka Sutra, it says: The qualities of the stainless Buddha in it are completely afflicted
