To Tönpa Pema Wangchen, he listened to the essence of the Dharma authority's true essence, as well as the Kagyu Kama's stages and subtle aspects. He also listened to the true Kagyu Kama from Tönpa Chöying Dorje, as well as many rare empowerments and transmissions such as the six-faced Yamantaka. On the twelfth day of the eighth month, the laypeople outside the monastery collectively offered a white cushion. In the assembly, the monks prepared tea and a feast, and performed prayers for the stability of the lotus feet. From the thirteenth day for three days, with the service of the assembly, he went to Chushur Ling and performed ablutions. Afterwards, he listened to the instructions and teachings of the Dzogchen Semde Nyingluk tradition from Khyungtön Drubpa Dorje. At the monastery, he bestowed longevity empowerments to many who were interested. At that time, some attendants reported that this year was his birth year with inauspicious signs, and it was not appropriate to give longevity empowerments to others. The master replied, 'You don't understand. The empowerment done to remove obstacles to others' lives also becomes a method for oneself to practice longevity.' The reason is like performing ransom rituals to eliminate obstacles. The Seventh Gyalwa Rinpoche passed away on the twenty-fifth day of the second month of the Water Dog year (1682), and it was temporarily kept secret. Afterwards, in order to arrange auspicious connections for the swift return of the reincarnation, and to eliminate obstacles after the reincarnation, he continuously offered empowerments and teachings to the great patrons. Those mentioned in general should be understood as content that needs to be kept secret. Then, on the twenty-fifth day of the ninth month, according to the invitation letter received earlier, he set off. Passing through Driu Sna's ferry and Jela, he arrived at the Potala Palace on the twenty-eighth. On the twenty-ninth, he went to pay respects to the master, who was in a very strict retreat. The meeting was very harmonious and fulfilling. On the third day of the tenth month, he offered ransom rituals and one hundred and eight longevity empowerments to the master at the Potala Palace. On the seventh, he met the great patron. That afternoon, in the presence of all the people at the upper and lower Potala Palace, he offered empowerments and teachings of Hayagriva, Vajrapani, and Wrathful Guru. Then, on the morning of the ninth, on an auspicious day, the master offered a long-life prayer associated with the essence extraction ritual to the great Sangha of Namgyal Monastery in Yasin, and offered auspicious khatas.
