Sakyatso, Jya Zhe Trashi Jungne, Drok Orgyen Chöje, Gyalsé Zopa Drak, Dengom Chö Drak Zangpo, Truelshik Sangye Wönpo, Shuksepba Yeshe Rabjam, and others greatly propagated the lineage through their activities. The Lineage of the Practice Tradition. Tulku Sonam Rangdröl. Now, we will speak of the lineage of the practice tradition of our own. Among them, Tulku Sonam Rangdröl is the immediate reincarnation of the great treasure revealer Ratna Lingpa. He was born in Lhodrak Mentang Shöl as the son of Tsewang Samdrub and Yum Orgyen Kyi in the Wood Tiger year. From childhood, he possessed great faith and compassion, awakening the impressions of holiness. At the age of seven or eight, he effortlessly mastered writing and reading. At the age of fifteen, he received ordination from Khenchen Tsulpawa and Lhun Trakpa in Lhalung. He studied Dharma practices, activities, rituals, Vajra dances, mandala drawing, and so on, and soon became proficient enough to be a teacher for others. Later, he requested Khenpo and Acharya from Pökhangpa Kunga Lodrö and Chölungpa Tsulpa, received full ordination, and thoroughly studied the precepts and practices of the Vinaya. He relied on about sixty virtuous teachers, including the two Khenpos and Acharyas, as well as the scholar Rinchen Zangpo, the great treasure revealer Pema Lingpa, Tulku Jangchub Lingpa, Künpang Lekpai Sherab, and others, and listened to the empowerments, instructions, transmissions, explanations, and pith instructions of the Kadampa, Sakya, Nyingma, Dakshang, Shije, Chögyal, Jonang, Bodong, and other well-known Dharma traditions, the number of which is difficult to count. In particular, from the unequaled Kunga Gyaltsen, Dzogchenpa Kunga Tashi, Mentsewa Lodrö Gyaltsen, the scholar Mati Dhvaja, Jyamdingpa Khuwo, and others, he listened with great diligence to the teachings of Dharma Lord Kunkhyen Chenpo, including the Heart Essence Yabzhi, the Seven Treasures, the Three Cycles of Rest, and all the activities and Dharma protectors, and mastered them all through contemplation and meditation. In many secluded practice places such as Shel Drak, Chimphu, Kharchu, Yangdzong, and others, he repeatedly connected the focused practice of the profound yoga of generation and completion stages with months and years, thereby bringing the warmth of the view, meditation, and fruition of the naturally perfect Great Perfection to its ultimate level.

Later, many tutelary deities appeared and bestowed prophecies. Unstained by the bonds of the eight worldly concerns, his activities for the benefit of beings spontaneously arose. At the age of forty-two, in the Wood Sheep year, he established the retreat of Dargye Chöding. About five hundred people seeking liberation gathered there. He acted in accordance with the Dharma. He divided the Dharma sessions into summer and winter. He taught empowerments and teachings without fixed times, according to the wishes of each individual, and many with experience of practice and realization emerged. For the sake of the faithful from all directions, he traveled to Ü-Tsang, Lho Mön, and other places, teaching practice, empowerment, instructions, oral instructions, and other Dharma doors without discrimination, according to their individual capacities, making all those who connected with him meaningful. Among the disciples who relied on the sacred Dharma were Zhwa-dmar-ba Könchok Bang, Drikung Zurpa, and many other great figures, as well as tulkus such as Jangchub Lingpa, Nangtsewa Gar gyi Wangpo, Dechen Lingpa, and others who received the transmission of profound treasures. There were also many scholars such as Paldring Rabjampa and Palgang Lotsawa, and many yogis with meditation experience such as Drubchen Kunzang Pelbar and Long Yangpa. In particular, there were many who held the essence of the lineage's tradition, such as Tenzin Chökyi Gyalpo, his heart-son Kunga Drakpa, and Shami Peljor Gyaltsenpa, as well as many patrons such as Sakyong Yardrokpa and Chongyepa. Furthermore, he benefited many to-be-tamed beings, including monks, tantrikas, male and female meditators, and householders. As a result, many students with their own students who held the Dharma lineage appeared in Ü-Tsang, Ngari, Kham, Kongpo, Mön, and other places. Thus, as a holder of the Nyingma teachings, his Dharma activities were manifestly great. He resided in this realm for seventy-seven years and passed away in the Iron Horse year near Yoru Trakdruk.
