Then, that monk practiced asceticism and meditated in that charnel ground. All the charnel ground dakinis were convinced and offered him rotten corpse meat. There, he enjoyed corpse meat, corpse clothing, and corpse food, and meditated. All the people in the three-tiered city said: 'There is a ghoul in the charnel ground who will eat everyone, so he must be killed.' So it was proclaimed everywhere. They went to that charnel ground with a host of troops. The monk, knowing that they were going to kill him, said: 'I am not a ghoul, I am meditating in the charnel ground in order to focus on Dharma.' But it was of no use, they attacked him with weapons. Then, that monk, stained by hatred, made a curse as he died: 'I have kept the precepts and practiced asceticism for nine years, and generated the mind to benefit sentient beings, but you did not allow me to meditate and killed me. May I, immediately after death, become a fierce yaksha, sucking the life breath of all sentient beings in general, and in particular, may I become the executioner of the king, the royal family, and all the retinue of the three-tiered city!' After that, that black monk had previously taken refuge in the Great Lord, and by the power of the accomplishment bestowed by him, and as prophesied by the Buddha in the past, immediately after his death, he was born on the summit of Mount Meru as the son of the Great Lord and the goddess Uma. How did this happen? In the northeast corner of Mount Meru, there is a tree called 'Perfect Gathering,' whose roots grow in the realm of the Asuras, and on whose top a Garuda bird dwells. On its leaves, the five desirable qualities arise naturally, and on its fruits, seven kinds of jewels ripen like crops, fulfilling all desires. It arises from the common merit of gods and Asuras. Because the top of that tree is in the realm of the gods, the gods have power over the leaves and fruits. At the waist of Mount Meru, there is an Asura city called 'Three-Tiered City.' From there, the Asura king Heradnapagshu, and from the place called 'Invisible Light' at the root of Mount Meru, the Asura king of the Three-Tiered City, as well as Takasangri, Rambanangje, Rambushin, Rahula, and so on, leading hundreds of millions of soldiers, holding various weapons, came to a place called 'Good Dharma' on the top of Mount Meru. On the top of Mount Meru, there are the god Indra, Vasudeva, Mahadeva, and so on. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The assembly of local deities. The Asuras said, 'Although the root of this tree grows in our land, it has been taken over by the gods. Now it should be shared by both gods and Asuras.' The gods said, 'The wish-fulfilling tree grants all desires, which is achieved through the merit of the gods. The fruits ripen in the heavenly realm, so we will not give them to you.' The Asuras angrily said, 'If that's the case, then let's go to war!' With that, they left. The Asura king Tagzang Ris (Good Knot) led thirty-two Yakshas and hundreds of millions of Asura soldiers, carrying various weapons, to the top of Mount Meru. The gods gathered at a meeting place called 'Chosang' (Excellent Dharma), preparing to fight, but the gods did not know how to be angry. In the 'House of Rough Transformation,' the black wrathful deity Kata drank from seven ponds filled with the water of wrath, causing the gods to become hateful. The god Indra led thirty-two attendants and hundreds of millions of heavenly soldiers, carrying various weapons. The gods and Asuras fought, throwing weapons at each other. When the blood of the Asuras flowed, their army grew larger; when the blood of the gods flowed, their army did not increase but instead died, so the gods were defeated, and the Asuras were victorious. To ensure the victory of the gods, a Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:Hūṃ) emanated from the heart of Vajrapani and merged into the forehead of the god Vishnu, transforming into an iron needle. After the iron needle split open, a blue-green woman with beautiful features and characteristics appeared. The gods named her Uma Deva. Because the gods desired her to be a wife, a voice from the sky, an emanation of Vajrapani, said, 'To make the kingdom of the gods high and stable, to place the beings of the six realms in happiness, and to avert the great war of the Asura demons, give Uma to Ishvara (Maheśvara).' Having said that, the gods gave Uma, the auspicious goddess Kirtika, to Mahadeva as his wife. They engaged in sexual union, and Uma gave birth to a pair of children. The son was named Yama Mahakala, who was dark-skinned, short in stature, and fierce in nature. He was the son of Mahadeva, extremely brave. Dark-skinned, short in stature, and radiant, he was known as 'Mahakala'. The daughter was called Mahakali, and also known as Shri Devi and the goddess Tsamandri. The father gave Mahakala a curved knife as a hand weapon, and the mother gave him a skull as a drinking vessel. The gods gave him the radiant goddess, formed from light, as his wife. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
