The three, here too, are considered to be substantially established. The past and future are not substantially established, the present is considered to be substantially established. Atoms are the ultimate truth, and the gross matter composed of them is the conventional truth. Because there is no space between atoms, it is perceived as gross matter. Consciousness is considered to have the aspect of an object. The grasper and the grasped are different in time. For the grasper itself, it has a similar aspect, is the creator, and is hidden. Non-associated formations, form, mind, and mental factors are considered to be imputed. Conditioned bases are considered to be non-existent, and Nirvana is considered to be non-existent. In terms of tenets, it is similar to the Sautrantika and the majority, and for Bodhisattvas, there are ten grounds and for Buddhas, there are three bodies, etc. The way to explain these teachings is that those who explain the meaning of the sutras should explain them with condensed meanings, word meanings, connections, and refutations and answers. The detailed tenets of this school can be found in the *Abhidharma-samuccaya*, Vasubandhu's *Abhidharmakośa* and its auto-commentary, and the *Pramāṇavārttika*, etc. This is the summary of the Sautrantika school, the second part. The tenets of the Yogācāra school are that external appearances are completely non-existent, and the mind appears in various forms, such as bodies, enjoyments, and places. 'These are all mind-only,' said the Buddha. The distinctions are true appearance and false appearance. To explain this meaning, it is necessary to refute the wrong views of the Sautrantika school and establish one's own tenets. First, the proof that the Mahāyāna is the word of the Buddha is through previous unpredicted events, simultaneous arising, not being an object of practice, establishment, existence and non-existence, antidotes, and other sounds, proving that the Mahāyāna is the word of the Buddha. Atoms are established in the ultimate truth, but are not consciousness. If examined with reasoning such as combining one-sixth, the atoms of external objects are not minute. If atoms do not combine, how can aggregates combine? If they combine, then the combining atoms do not exist, so they do not aggregate. The mind disturbed by habitual tendencies appears as external objects, which is very obvious. In reality, there are no external objects, only the mind itself. It is wrong to think that one sees external objects. The existence of the sense bases such as form is spoken for the sake of taming those who need to be tamed, according to their needs, just like beings created by illusion. What seed does one use, and what appearance of consciousness arises? The birthplace of that and that, the Buddha said, has two forms. Non-associated formations are considered to be merely imputed, conditioned and unconditioned. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
