Gods (Sanskrit: deva, deities), and gandharvas (Sanskrit: gandharva, a type of deity), along with the world, rejoiced and praised the words of the Bhagavan (Sanskrit: Bhagavan, Blessed One). As shown above, it means that after the Bhagavan spoke the aforementioned words, he praised, saying, 'Well done!' and bestowed blessings. Subsequently, the retinue also agreed with the Bhagavan. Which retinue? The son of the Venerable Sharadvatiputra, and the great Bodhisattva Arya Avalokiteshvara, as well as the retinue possessing all four assemblies of disciples. Gods, humans, asuras (Sanskrit: asura, a type of deity), and gandharvas, along with the world, rejoiced in the Bhagavan, were delighted, and praised the words of the Bhagavan with faith. Explanation of the Condensed Meaning of the Profound Practice The third part is the explanation of the condensed meaning of the profound practice, including practicing the samadhi (Sanskrit: samādhi, concentration) with three samadhis, and the two ways of maintaining the single path of post-attainment (after enlightenment). First, there are three samadhis: the samadhi of emptiness, the signless samadhi, and the wishless samadhi. The first is: when the mind looks at the mind, the mind does not become anything, like the sky; it is like the sky, which is the practice of peacefulness. How is it similar to the sky? Initially, it is empty of arising, with no place of origin; ultimately, it is empty of ceasing, with no place to go; in the middle, it is empty of abiding, with no way to grasp it, like the sky. As it is said in the sutra: 'Not thinking of arising and not arising, this is the supreme practice of Prajnaparamita (Sanskrit: prajñāpāramitā, perfection of wisdom).' The signless samadhi is: as such, abiding in the emptiness of the nature of the mind, when practicing, one should not meditate with signs, but on the nature of being free from elaboration, one should rest the mind in non-action. As it is said in the sutra: 'Abiding in the signless, practicing in peace, and in great peace.' How to meditate without signs? Free from the mind to be meditated upon, without a meditator, free from the calculation of meditating and not meditating, one should leave the mind uncorrected and naked. As it is said in the sutra: 'Not abiding in all dharmas, practicing without abiding.' The wishless samadhi is: as such, the nature of the mind, free from arising, ceasing, and abiding, in that very meaning that is unspeakable and unthinkable, is called Prajnaparamita, and it is also called complete Bodhi (Sanskrit: bodhi, enlightenment). Apart from that, there is no other fruit to be obtained. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If one understands this meaning, no one will fall into samsara, There is no origination, and no suffering. If one understands such a meaning, one can cut through the bhumis and paths all at once, without needing to progress gradually, because there is no path. In short, understanding that all dharmas are the self-display of the mind cuts off external clinging; understanding that the nature of the mind is not established in any way, that it is emptiness, cuts off internal clinging; in emptiness, finding nothing to look at or practice, letting awareness rest naturally, cuts off secret clinging; since there is no other object to be accomplished other than this meaning, it cuts off ultimate clinging. That mind, free from all clinging, abiding in boundlessness, is the supreme practice. As it is said: 'No place is the place, this is what the Victorious Ones have said.' Like clouds in the sky, abiding without abiding. Remaining in such a state without distraction is called 'samadhi'. Abiding in a state where there is nothing to abide in, there is no arrogance of 'I am in samadhi' or 'I am out of samadhi'. Why? Because the nature of dharmas is fully known. Second, the way to carry the post-meditation as one: Briefly describe the practice of the root sutras, supplement the practice of supreme methods, and explain how the appearance of objects made by elaboration transforms into non-elaboration. First, when arising from samadhi into post-meditation, all appearances such as forms are carried on the path as illusion-like, free from clinging to appearance and emptiness. All sounds are carried on the path as echo-like, free from clinging to sound and emptiness. All memories and conceptual images are carried on the path as dream-like, inseparable from awareness and emptiness. As it is said: 'Whoever knows this dharma as emanation and illusion, without doubt, returns to learning and diligently practices.' Second, supplementing the practice of supreme methods: If one mainly practices profound secret mantra, one should abide in the generation stage of self-luminous emptiness and inseparability, and carry all appearances on the path in that way. Here, one can also integrate the generation stage of a single yidam deity. If one grasps the profound view, the path will be quickly realized, while many practices are of little help when needed. For example, when the appearances of dreams or the bardo arise intensely, the practitioner who has integrated himself, focusing on the practice of the single generation-completion stage, will be benefited. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2
