Meditate on a lotus with four petals. Above it, meditate on a full moon disc. Then, from the navel of oneself as the deity, the form of Akshobhya (Tibetan: མི་བསྐྱོད་པ།, Meaning: The Immovable One), blue and smiling, emerges from the navel and sits on the seat of the lotus (red) in front (about the size of a small mirror). Generate strong faith and longing for it. Then, while inhaling, generate faith and longing, and visualize the blue, smiling form of Akshobhya (Tibetan: མི་བསྐྱོད་པ།) entering through the nostrils. While holding the breath, meditate that the form of the guru remains at the navel, blue and smiling. Generate strong faith and longing for it. Practice this in six short sessions each day to clear the mind. The sign of stability is when, while exhaling, one feels that the form of Akshobhya (Tibetan: མི་བསྐྱོད་པ།) goes out with the breath, and while inhaling and holding the breath, one feels that the form of Akshobhya (Tibetan: མི་བསྐྱོད་པ།) enters and remains. Some may stabilize in three days, while others may take more than ten days. The necessity of this is that because one may have broken even the most subtle vows to one's guru, this practice will protect one, accumulate special merit, and infuse special blessings into one's being. The Main Practice: Having explained the preliminaries, the main practice is divided into two methods for generating actual wisdom: the key to subduing the wind-mind and the actual kindling of inner heat (tummo). First, the key to subduing the wind-mind: Choose a comfortable place, sit on a comfortable cushion, and adjust the body as before. Visualize at the brow center of oneself as the deity a white, round, radiant, smooth, rolling, comfortable drop, which is the essence of the wind-mind. It is about the size of a mustard seed or a bean, or whatever size is suitable. If one initially feels it is good to be large, then meditate on it as large; if one initially feels it is good to be small, then meditate on it as small. Practice diligently in clear-minded sessions each day. The sign of stability is when one feels the drop gathering at the brow center, or feels heat, or feels throbbing, or feels that the eyes can see it, or feels that the hands can touch it. Some may stabilize in one or five days. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It will come. For some, it will stabilize for about ten days. Meditate until these signs appear. Then, with a clear mind, adjust the body to a comfortable cushion. Visualize yourself as the deity, and the bindu (drop) on the forehead rolls upwards like a comfortable little ball until it reaches the Brahma穴 (Brahma-randhra) at the crown of the head. Meditate there for a moment. Then, from the Brahma穴 (Brahma-randhra) at the crown of the head to the tip of the Vajra Jewel, visualize a red Avadhuti nadi (central channel), as thin as an arrow shaft, as hollow as an onion stalk. Focus on this and meditate for a long time. Then, again, with a clear mind, adjust the body to a comfortable cushion. Focus on the bindu (drop) at the crown of the head and meditate. Then, focus on the Avadhuti nadi (central channel) and meditate. Then, visualize the bindu (drop) melting in the Avadhuti nadi (central channel), making a great bell sound, or a great buzzing sound, or a great crackling sound. Visualize the essence descending in the Avadhuti nadi (central channel) and reaching the tip of the Vajra Jewel. Experience a tingling sensation of bliss. Beginners should meditate on the arising of bliss. By meditating in this way, the bindu (drop) may actually flow out. This is not good. [It is said that the essence truly enters, and the Avadhuti nadi (central channel) is completely filled with the bindu (drop).] It is said that this is the sign of stability. If, after meditating in this way, the experience of non-conceptual bliss does not arise, then, as before, adjust the body to a comfortable cushion, focus on the bindu (drop) between the eyebrows, and meditate for a short time, about one or two days. After stabilizing, with a clear mind, adjust the body to a comfortable cushion as before. Visualize the bindu (drop) between the eyebrows rolling upwards like a comfortable little ball to the Brahma穴 (Brahma-randhra) at the crown of the head, and meditate for a moment. Again, with a clear mind, adjust the body to a comfortable cushion. Clearly visualize the bindu (drop) at the crown of the head, and then from the Brahma穴 (Brahma-randhra) at the crown of the head to the tip of the Vajra Jewel, visualize the Avadhuti nadi (central channel) as before, and meditate for a moment. Then, again, with a clear mind, adjust the body to a comfortable cushion. Clearly visualize the bindu (drop) at the crown of the head and the Avadhuti nadi (central channel). Visualize the bindu (drop) melting in the Avadhuti nadi (central channel), like a round drop of white butter, reaching the tip of the Vajra Jewel, and experience a tingling sensation of bliss. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
