非异识(rnam ma yin pa'i shes pa):与自证量(rang rig gi tshad ma)及十事(bcu po don gcig)意义相同。

Non-distinct consciousness (rnam ma yin pa'i shes pa): It is synonymous with self-cognizance (rang rig gi tshad ma) and the ten matters (bcu po don gcig). Classification: From the perspective of experience, there are two types of experiential self-cognizance (nyams myong gi rang rig): the conceptual thought (rtog pa) that becomes one's own object of experience, and the non-conceptual consciousness (rtog med shes pa) that becomes one's own object of experience. From the perspective of association (mtshungs ldan), there are two types of self-cognizance: mind (sems) and mental factors (sems byung). From the perspective of basis (rten), there are two types of self-cognizance: that of ordinary beings (skye) and that of noble beings ('phags). From the perspective of the dominant condition (bdag rkyen), there are two types of self-cognizance: that which arises relying on one's own dominant condition, the mental faculty (yid dbang), and that which arises relying on one's own dominant condition, meditative concentration (ting nge 'dzin). The first is the majority of self-cognizance, and the second is the self-cognizance that is the direct realization of meditative yoga (mnyam gzhag gi rnal 'byor mngon sum du gyur pa). Some say that the experiential self-cognizance of sense direct perception (dbang mngon) arises relying on the dominant condition of the physical sense faculty (dbang po gzugs can), but this is a false statement and one should cover one's ears. Etymological explanation: The experiential self-cognizance of conceptual thought arises from one's own dominant condition, the mental faculty, and is merely self-illuminating, therefore it is called 'self-mental direct' (rang yid mngon). Regarding the differences in characteristics, concerning the difference in object (yul), saying that self-cognizance has no object, or that it has no object that is different in substance (rang las rdzas) from itself, although this statement is good, it is difficult for young people to understand. Therefore, it should be said that self-cognizance does not have an object that is separated (rgyang chad) from its own object, divided into grasper (gzung) and grasped ( 'dzin). Regarding the difference in the dominant condition, if one says that self-cognizance has no dominant condition, neither physical sense faculty nor mental faculty, although this statement is good, self-cognizance does not have any dominant condition, neither form (bem) nor consciousness (shes), that is uniquely its own. However, it does have other dependent dominant conditions. What are they? Because it admits that it is mental consciousness (yid shes), its dominant condition does not go beyond the mental faculty. Regarding the difference in essence, if one says that self-cognizance is neither mind nor mental factor, that would be acceptable, but it is difficult to understand, so one should admit that self-cognizance is both mind and mental factor. If one asks, 'What are the examples?' One can reluctantly say that the main mind (gtso sems) is the self-cognizance mind of the experiencer, and the mental factors are the self-cognizance mental factors of the experiencer. Difference in essence: Some say that if it is consciousness, then it must be self-cognizance, but this statement is too extreme; do not make such a conclusion casually. Some say that if it is self-cognizance, then it must be self-knowing valid cognition (rang nges tshad ma), although this is in accordance with the literal meaning of the text, we have two types of valid cognition. So how should it be understood? For a person who has certain sense direct perception (dbang mngon nges pa), the experiential self-cognizance of sense direct perception in their continuum is self-knowing valid cognition, while for a person who does not have certain sense direct perception, the experiential self-cognizance of sense direct --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
