Thesis: You and the first moment of the arising aggregate of form (Tibetan: གཟུགས་འཛིན་དབང་མངོན་, Meaning: Aggregate of grasping form) should be real. Because you arise simultaneously with it, and you are the first moment of the aggregate of form. This is a real reason. If asserted, that is incorrect. Because you are the aggregate of form that arose before it. Because you are the aggregate that grasps the form that arose before it, therefore it does not exceed the scope of non-pervasion. This is the reason. Thesis: You are the aggregate that grasps the first moment of form that arose before it. When examining doubts about the object to be grasped (Tibetan: གཟུང་དོན་, Meaning: The object being cognized or grasped): Thesis: The first moment of form should be coarse. Because you are the object to be grasped. The pervasion itself is real. If asserted, that is incorrect. Because you are a subtle particle (Tibetan: རྡུལ་ཕྲན་, Meaning: The smallest unit of matter). Because you are a minute dust particle (Tibetan: རྡུལ་ཕྲ་རབ་, Meaning: An even smaller unit than a subtle particle). Because you are an aggregate of minute dust particles, therefore it is contradictory pervasion. Someone says: That thing should be an aggregate of minute dust particles. Because you are an aggregate of coarse dust particles. Because you are a coarse dust particle, and you are not a substantial coarse dust particle, isn't it necessary to say non-pervasion? Again, it is said: That thing should be an aggregate of coarse dust particles. Because there exists an aggregate of coarse dust particles. There exists a coarse dust particle, and there is neither a substantial coarse dust particle nor a directionless coarse dust particle. Think about what will happen? Again, thesis: The first moment of form should be the subtle particle of the source of arising (Tibetan: སྐྱེ་མཆེད་, Meaning: Place of arising). Because you are an aggregate of subtle particles. If asserted, then you are the subtle particle of the source of arising of form. Because you are the subtle particle that produces it, and you are form. If asserted, then you are the subtle particle of form. Therefore, if asserted, then you are a subtle particle. If said like that, fundamentally it is non-pervasive. Again, thesis: That thing should be a subtle particle. Because you are a special subtle particle, if said like that, it is also contradictory pervasion. The reason is established, because it is the object to be grasped. Again, thesis: That thing should be nominally existent (Tibetan: བཏགས་ཡོད་, Meaning: Exists dependently on other things). Because you are coarse. If said like that, it is non-pervasive. If you say that, please live well! Thesis: The first moment of form should not be a subtle particle. Because you are coarse. Because you are a collection of aggregated particles. Because you are an aggregated particle. Because you are any of the ten sense bases of form (Tibetan: སྐྱེ་མཆེད་བཅུ་པོ་, Meaning: Eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, form, sound, smell, taste, touch). This is pervasive, because the Abhidharmakośa says: 'The ten with form are aggregates.' Again, thesis: That thing... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tsongkhapa: You should be an aggregate of dust particles, because you are an extremely small dust particle. Which of the extremely small dust particle and the substance dust particle are you? You are not the latter. The former is established, because you are composed of dust particles. If the latter is not established, you should be an unparalleled dust particle, because of the non-establishment. If you concede, you should not be an object of apprehension, because of that. It is pervasive, because 'the object of the senses is not an atom.' Listen again, 'The first moment of form, you are the object of sense consciousness, an extremely small dust particle,' from the context of what is directly indicated as an extremely small dust particle, you should be an object of apprehension, because of that. If you concede, you should not be an object of apprehension, because you do not appear there, so you are not considered an object. Because it is 'the object of sense consciousness, an extremely small dust particle,' it is the directly indicated extremely small dust particle. It is pervasive, because in the 'Critique of Objects,' it says: 'The cause of the consciousness of the senses, are indeed subtle dust particles.' If it is the directly indicated extremely small dust particle, 'because it does not appear, it is not the object of the senses.' It must be the directly indicated extremely small dust particle. Then, what is the intention of these scriptures? The intention of the 'Critique of Objects' and the 'Auto-commentary on the Treasury of Logic' are the same, so I will explain: The form that becomes the object of the direct perception of the sense of form, although it arises from the accumulation of its constituent dust particles, the foundational dust particles do not appear to produce their own characteristics to the direct perception of the sense of form in the continuum of perception, so they are not considered its object. In essence, the dust particles do not produce their own characteristics in their own result, which is the direct perception of the sense of form, so they are not considered its object. But the coarse object composed of dust particles is the cause of producing its own characteristics, so it is considered its object. If you have the fortune, you should cherish it like the essence of your heart. Listen again, 'If it is an object of apprehension, then the dust particle is also the same.' From the context of the dust particle indicated in the phrase 'dust particle,' it should be universally a dust particle, because if it is so, it should be a dust particle. If you concede, your fabrication is... Then, 'molten iron, rabbit horns, ox...' From the context of the iron indicated in the phrase 'iron'... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
