By abiding, appearance itself, arises as great self-returning wisdom. When conceptual thoughts have no rebirth, karma and its maturation subside into the expanse. Even if one sees a side of emptiness in between, one should still be wary of karma and its maturation. If one grasps the unchanging awareness, it will spread out as the spontaneously accomplished Dharmakaya. In between, although it seems there is no need to meditate, cherish the inseparable devotion, mindfulness, and awareness. When one's own tradition of meditation arises, there is no need to seek practice from elsewhere. All doorways of appearance are the play of emptiness, and from the moment they arise, they are self-liberated. When the key points are known as they are, chasing after them is the work of children. Just recognizing is enough. Unfettered thoughts are the work of a madman; it is a mistake to presume them to be uncorrected, raw states. To be content with whatever arises, although it is the supreme of non-meditation meditation, one must not be confused about the nature of self-awareness. If confused, it is meaningless and unprophesied. One who is certain that it is okay to be confused is a great meditator who has reached the limit. Whether one's mind abides or moves, unwavering mindfulness is the supreme method. Even if distracted, if one finds the confidence of not being confused, there is no need to seek abiding separately. Whatever conceptual activity or effort arises, all appearances and activities dissolve, without moving even an atom from the expanse. Having realized this, when there is nothing left to do, the object of meditation and the meditator naturally cease. Even the uncorrected, raw state is just a name. Appearance is said to arise as meditation. However, to realize it in this way, with the complete beginning and end of meditation, let the mind of action dissolve naturally. Until the egolessness born of meditation has not passed away, like a widow raising an orphan, one must strive diligently to the end. The field of understanding that follows after words, and the discriminating mind, do not see the meaning. From the moment one tames one's own mind, even if one does not realize the nature of reality as it is, one should first understand the general meaning. In the middle, experience a little, and finally, having realized it as it is, realize the supreme meaning of emptiness that is beyond words and examples. One will be liberated from the dangerous straits of hope and fear. Attachment to truth becomes stronger and stronger, important tasks increase day by day, like setting up a resting place for the eight worldly concerns, those who presume to have realized the nature of reality are mistaken. The scale for measuring the extent of a practitioner is the degree of attachment to the truth of appearances. Appearance is like being deceived by illusion, not deliberately clinging to anything, the mind of arrogance dissolves into the expanse. Meditator

These are the signs of taming. The condensed words of the essence of practice, this is the third. The treatises on the legal system are truly wonderful, taught by the former teachers. The Dharma kings, grandfather and grandson, etc., successively established the edicts and laws. Nowadays, the end times are extremely degenerate, and it is very rare to act according to the law. If great people do not act according to the law, then ordinary people will find it even more difficult. If everything goes beyond the bounds of the law, then no one will have happiness. Although evil deeds increase in the degenerate age, it is a common karma that cannot be reversed. If each person practices well, then happiness will arise in each person's own situation. Like the four creatures of the past, therefore it should be upheld. The treatises of those who know the law should be relied upon without separation. Those are not just for reading scriptures, but should value their actual meaning. Those who are narrow-minded and arrogant are angry at those who speak beneficial and honest words, and like to flatter the deceitful. In the end, both oneself and others will be destroyed. Wise people, do not despise the words of love for me. If you do not have the wisdom to discern yourself, and do not listen to beneficial words, then you will never get better, and the stream of harm will continue to flow. If you can govern the country according to the Dharma, then it is a treasure of benefit for both oneself and others. A government without Dharma is the cause of falling into hell together with its retinue. The past traditions of a Dharma-abiding king, not even the slightest detail should be abolished, like cutting down a fruit-bearing tree. New rules and regulations that are inappropriate, even if important, should not be established, like planting the seeds of poison. Not knowing to be content with one's own wealth, being extremely jealous of the prosperity of others, not being kind to one's retinue and subjects, and liking evil laws, such a government is as fleeting as the clouds of autumn. When the people are poor and suffering, then there is no respect for the ruler. If the subjects are not respectful, then the prosperity of the ruler is like a dream. When poor, they covet the wealth of others, and even when rich, they worry about enemies. No matter what they do, they have thorns in their side, and such a mind will never be at ease. Just as one likes wealth, all beings like it too. Do not falsely accuse others of minor offenses, thereby robbing them of their wealth. If the subjects are extremely prosperous, that is the prosperity of the king.
