Having emanated hundreds of images of treatises, in order to reach the depths of what is to be signified by wisdom individually, holding the steadfast confidence of a peg in the ocean of existence. 2. Having drunk the waves of the nectar of utter peace, with the lotus of pure speech blooming fully, freed from the courage of fearless expression, one becomes the sun of speech in the realm of knowledge. 3. Since the movement of all thoughts has ceased, the breath in the throat has been blessed into the sound of Nada. On the royal path of discussing the unparalleled Dharma, the definitive ritual has been bestowed by the Lotus-born Guru. 4. Having opened the eye of solitude that has abandoned the three obscurations, in order to awaken hundreds of innate wisdoms, even though the youthfulness of Manjushri is complete, is it not also obscured by the new maroon monastic robes? 5. Having seen the truth with certainty in the subtle points, even though one has obtained the forbearance of non-arising in the profound Dharma, still, with constancy and respect, entering into what is to be known, that is the conduct of the bodhisattvas. 6. Even though one is well-versed in characteristics, one also realizes that the nature of characteristics is emptiness, and what is signified is merely a magical illusion. How can there be pride in that person in whom knowledge and what is to be known are absorbed into peace? 7. Even though one abandons worldly fame, since it is established by relying on cause and effect, one can also go ahead in practice and listening, directly and indirectly, and in the world one will become a spiritual friend equal to a king. 8. Therefore, nowadays, some people boast of being wise with a one-sided understanding, or presume to be accomplished with a slight realization, or without the authority of valid reasoning on the profound points, they dare to know with ignorant minds. 9. You, the sun, drawn by the chariot of good deeds, rising like a fortress stirring up the mud of bad minds, may you open the lotus of boundless wisdom with the light of excellent conduct and teaching. 10. I offer to you, the water polluted by dust, the clarity purified by the lineage of jewels, and even the true Dharma of the Able One, defiled by fools, may it be purified by the glory of your scriptural understanding and realization. 11. In order to sustain the wish-fulfilling jewel that bestows all things, the three secrets eternally in purity, if the definitive ritual is established on the victory banner, then with the power of accomplishment, please hold it. 12. When the vast white umbrella of scripture and reasoning, raised by the golden handle of intelligence, refreshes the second wheel of the wise, may the great drum of the victorious doctrine be sounded.

Verse 13. This is because of the perfect innate and acquired qualities, possessing control over inexhaustible pride. When the supreme incarnation Jikme Khyentse (འཇིགས་མེད་མཁྱེན་བརྩེ་) was studying grammar and the Chandravyakarana (ཙཱནྡྲ) treatise, in the aspiration associated with the name Kunshay (ཀུན་བཤད་), it was offered at the age of twenty-seven by Dari Dra (ད་རི་དྲཱ་), who claimed to have a slight understanding of the five sciences through the kindness of Ze Chen Pandita (ཟེ་ཆེན་པཎྜི་ཏ), and who was named Yonten Gyatso (ཡོན་ཏན་རྒྱ་མཚོ།). May auspiciousness increase! Furthermore, the ninth category of combined letters, called Ranasas (ར་ན་ས), means the wandering Hala Mukhi (ཧ་ལ་མུ་ཁཱི), which is the plowshare. The speech of Manjughosha, endowed with glory, The innate wisdom of the accomplished one, The essence of combination, pleasing to the gods, The youthful intelligence that is full, may it be victorious. 1 The great water treasure, the source of precious jewels, Constantly gathers water without ever being satisfied, The wise ones who hold the glory of the precious Dharma, Likewise, they proceed solely in hearing, thinking, and meditating. 2 Although fire always dwells in wood, It does not ignite unless a person makes effort, Likewise, even if wisdom is pure with the power of aspiration, Intelligence depends on hearing and diligence. 3 The jewel of the Victor's teachings relies on the ocean of learning, Which is increased by the nectar of the moon of hearing, Without hearing, learning does not become pure, And the eye of wisdom that realizes the profound becomes blind. 4 Just as a kingdom lacks a ruler to protect and care for it, And is merely a common person who fills their belly, The lord of the earth is not called Tibetan by name, Without learning, a holder of the teachings is merely a name. 5 Like lapis lazuli, the teachings of the teacher, The great captain who polishes it, From the state of fulfilling the two purposes and desires, May you never waver and provide for the needs of beings. 6 If there is a vessel of pride that is naturally accomplished, It is not difficult to gather the best essence of much learning, By seeking much learning in general reasoning and especially the ways of the pitaka, May you be endowed with the eye of Dharma. 7 Meditating without hearing is like a blind person entering a path, If you cannot even identify the place where you yourself have gone, Showing that to others is merely words, Know that meditation also arises from hearing. 8 If you are full of hearing but do not strive in practice, Like a great hungry ghost guarding a treasure of jewels, Even if you call out with a hundred hardships, it is meaningless, Finally, hearing and thinking should touch upon practice. 9 Further
