Regarding the three ways of liberation that are spoken of, among them, the first of the two ways of attaining Buddhahood, with remainder and without remainder, is the nirvana without remainder: All the gross and subtle afflictions and the materiality of the body composed of earth, water, fire, and wind are purified, and the essence is enlightened as the Dharmakaya, so the three kayas are inseparable; the nature expands into the wisdom of awareness, so the five wisdom lights are inseparable; compassion expands into activity, so compassion is without interruption, this is called the perfectly complete Buddha. This is considered to be the enlightenment of the nature of this life in the realm of the Nirmanakaya. The second is the nirvana with remainder: Relying on the practice of primordial purity and spontaneous accomplishment is the way to obtain the qualities of the path and the result. As such, gradually traversing the qualities of the bhumis and paths, leaving the material aggregates as a remainder, with the appearance of inner and outer signs such as light, sound, earthquakes, Buddha bodies, and relics, attaining complete enlightenment in the bardo, this is considered to be the attainment of manifest complete enlightenment. Second, no matter in which of the three ways of liberation enlightenment is attained, the activity of compassion is: From the power of the two form kayas gathered by one's own continuum, to those who are in the bodhisattva grounds, and to the common disciples, the Sambhogakaya is manifested perfectly, and the various manifestations of the Nirmanakaya that tame whatever is appropriate, are shown in limitless ways. Among them, the intention of the inner clear Dharmakaya and inseparable wisdom, from the Dharmadhatu that is unchanging in the three times, without moving, in the realms of the ten directions, the Sambhogakaya and Nirmanakaya accomplish benefit, like the moon drawn from the sky appearing in a water vessel. Accomplishing benefit as long as samsara exists is like a wish-fulfilling jewel and a wish-fulfilling tree, effortlessly spontaneously accomplishing and never ceasing. Third, from the after-death meaning instruction, it says: In this explicit instruction of the innermost secret heart essence, whoever touches it will be connected to actual nirvana. As it is said, if one practices this supreme secret instruction with one-pointedness, then those of the highest faculties will be liberated in one lifetime and one body, or the highest in three years, the intermediate in five years, and the lowest within seven years, this is what the lineage and the assembly of Vidyadharas have unanimously declared. Fifth, incidental practical key points.

There are two aspects to the teachings: first, the general establishment of pith instructions; second, the explanation of the classification and summarization of practice. The first aspect is that, according to this system of the Great Perfection, there are considered to be three ways of imparting pith instructions: imparting through the method of guidance; imparting through the method of introduction; and for those with ripened karma, imparting through the method of completely sweeping away. The first is that after any of the three common preliminary practices have been completed, the main practice is introduction, followed by using subsequent Dharma to create conviction. Among these, for individuals who like complexity and common signs of warmth, first guide the three bodies, pre-train in the sound and meaning of the elements, and then introduce the main practice. For the diligent who like asceticism, first guide wisdom, pre-train in the practice of distinguishing samsara and nirvana, and then introduce the main practice. For the lazy who like speculation, first guide the mind, pre-train in body, speech, and mind, and then introduce the main practice. Imparting through the method of introduction is that for some with awakened karmic connections, like grasping an ear of grain from the neck, introduce after empowerment and then practice. This is only to indicate the meaning of cutting through and direct transcendence, and in connection with this, rely on a mirror symbolizing the expanse, a peacock feather symbolizing wisdom, a man-shel symbolizing union, etc., to perform twenty-one introductions, and impart through five sets of five methods. The third is that for a person at the end of life, like a traveler on a road; for the suffering of death, like a great suffering; if one does not recognize the various ways in which karmic appearances manifest, there will be a nest of rising up against enemies; if one recognizes them, there will be a nest of appearing as friends. Therefore, it is said that at the time of death, introduction should be imparted in a completely sweeping away manner. Among these, the latter two are included in the first section. Second, the classification and summarization of practice is that if one wants to guide the complete stage to maturation and learning, then starting from the preliminary practices of a session, perform the seven preliminary mind trainings, accumulate common and special accumulations, then the yoga of wind of detachment and bindu of attachment, special common preliminary practices, the guidance and meditation of original purity, from distinguishing samsara and nirvana to the pith instructions of direct transcendence, learning the posture of the three bodies, taking wisdom as the key in the three sessions of the night.
