May the earth be prayed to many times! Also, bathe and cleanse. Pray with great faith and single-mindedness. Offer whatever offerings are available. It is commendable to diligently strive during the four seasons, especially at dawn. Alas! Children of meager merit, cast away by the fruits of bad karma, bodies of the degenerate age adorned with a hundred sufferings, are like those who lose a jewel and seek a plum. For what reason do those who are like that hold onto the desirable things that please the mind? Who has the fortune to believe in this method of practice, spoken by the Tathagata, by which the sons of the victorious ones who have attained great power can behold the face in a short time? When will the great merit of being able to take it into one's hands come about? To find such questions is also the power of the Buddha, the power of the mind of enlightenment, and therefore some wisdom of merit may arise. It would be appropriate to elaborate on these principles, but the venerable and omniscient lama also commanded, "Make it clear and concise!" Also, the venerable Kunga Nyingpo said, "Many words lack the essence of the letter. The iron hook that is found is wonderfully amazing! Otherwise, a single word from the ruler can possess the dominion of the city and its surroundings." Just like that, I have not said much except to omit the necessary content. Again, it is said: The mighty son, the wish-fulfilling jewel, From reliance on him, all desires are fulfilled, But the Kataka (Tibetan: ཀེ་ཏ་ཀ,Sanskrit Devanagari: केतक, Sanskrit Romanization: ketaka, Literal meaning: Kataka) that purifies faults, There is no other equal to Akashagarbha (Tibetan: ནམ་མཁའི་སྙིང་པོ,Sanskrit Devanagari: आकाशगर्भ, Sanskrit Romanization: akashagarbha, Literal meaning: Essence of Space). Heroes, with compassion and pity, Enter the realm of suffering because it is the nature of things. I, too, am a person with downfalls, This is the essence to be accomplished. Nowadays, everything is disguised as Dharma, They strive to explain various non-Dharma things. Having discarded the sacred Dharma like grass, They take to heart what only appears to be Dharma. Abandoning Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, They rely on malevolent spirits for refuge. They expect happiness from the fruits of non-virtue, They commit root downfalls and boast of guiding others. Alas, in this degenerate age of decline, The wise's good words are seen as drought, The fool's self-made ideas are cherished like life. The sun of the teachings is setting on the western mountain. Therefore, the words of a humble one like me, It is difficult for them to benefit anyone. For these teachings that are certainly the true Dharma, I wrote them because of an unbearable longing.
