To the chief guide who dispels all kinds of dense darkness, I prostrate. With a clear garland of light, you pervade all realms, Even with a slight glance from your wisdom eye, You pacify the entire army of demons, I prostrate to the light of your immeasurable body. The body of liberation, utterly abandoning existence and peace, Though not moving from the sphere of suchness, To whomever needs taming, you show yourself accordingly, I prostrate to the one blazing with marks and signs. Perfectly distinguishing all dharmas, with sixty branches, Even with a single word, in all directions and times, You enter according to the faculties of sentient beings, I prostrate to the light of your immeasurable speech. Though utterly beyond the realm of speech, thought, and expression, The authentic words spontaneously accomplished without effort, The inconceivable secret of speech, I prostrate to the one who shows the supreme path of goodness. Though naturally luminous and invisible like space, With the play of wisdom possessing all aspects, The mandala of knowing expands, knowing all that can be known, I prostrate to the light of your immeasurable mind. All dharmas are inherently pacified by their very nature, Whatever unceasing appearance is utterly radiant, Your vision is also utterly pure and peaceful, Likewise, I prostrate to the one who sees all. Whoever is the source of near sustenance, like a wish-fulfilling jewel for beings, Body, speech, mind, and immeasurable power of wisdom, And the immeasurable compassionate activity, I constantly prostrate to Amitabha (Tibetan: འོད་དཔག་མེད་, Wylie: 'od dpag med; Sanskrit: अमिताभ, Amitābha; lit. Immeasurable Light). Material and mentally emanated bodies and enjoyments, Not grasping, reaching the end of space, Taking them with intelligence, I offer to the Sugatas, Considering the inferior with compassion, please accept these from me. All the sinful actions of myself and all sentient beings, Whatever has become a fault, I confess and reveal, May I never do them again, even at the cost of my life, May the obscurations of karma be completely exhausted. I rejoice in the virtue of all Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, Shravakas, Pratyekabuddhas, And all sentient beings. I urge all Sugatas in the ten directions, To turn the wheel of the supreme Dharma. Even for immeasurable millions of eons, I request you not to pass into Nirvana, but to remain. Whatever merit I have accumulated in the three times, I dedicate to the great Bodhi for the sake of benefiting others. Until I attain the essence of enlightenment, In this life and all future lives, May the holy Guru always hold me with kindness.

May the Bodhi mind never decline. May I possess perfect lineage, form, and enjoyment. May I obtain the supreme leisure and endowment, together with Dharma-abiding friends. May I gradually learn the Buddha's teachings, And be endowed with aspiration, diligence, and mindfulness. May I not be born in the three lower realms or other unpleasant samsaric existences, But may this life itself be fully ripened. May I not experience it in other lifetimes. May I perfect all the practices of generosity, ethics, patience, diligence, Concentration, wisdom, skillful means, and the extraordinary, Aspiration, strength, and the ocean of wisdom. May I be without regard for body and even life, With a mind that is workable and a self-discipline that is tamed in solitude. May I be rich in the Dharma of scripture and realization, Loving, and always endowed with mindfulness. The suchness of samsara is nirvana, The suchness of conceptual thought is wisdom. May I possess the wisdom that understands the nature of reality, Which transcends the nature of one and many. May I abide in the practice of profound dependent origination, Realizing the ultimate, free from elaboration, Dharmakaya. May I enter without obstruction into the Sugata's Dharma, Endowed with qualities such as strength, wisdom, and activity. May my mind be filled with joy wherever I go, May my mind, body, and actions be completely pure, And may I reveal the ocean of Dharma with beautiful songs. May I be like the conduct of the sons of the Buddhas. Until I have obtained such qualities, May I be victorious over all opposing forces, May my life be immortal, my wealth increase, And may all my wishes be fulfilled as desired. When the appearances of this life are near to fading, May I be blessed by the Sugatas and their sons, Realizing the meaning of co-emergent luminosity. May countless gods and goddesses, Welcome me with various offerings, In the self-appearing, stainless nature of the Dharmadhatu, May I easily travel with a mind of great bliss to the pure Sukhavati realm. In that realm, in the center of a mass of red and yellow light, In the stamen of countless precious lotuses, May I see the Dharma Lord Amitabha, Accompanied by hundreds of thousands of millions of monks. May I see the Bhagavan, surrounded by the assembly of Bodhisattvas, As red as the rising sun at dawn.

Having seen that radiant, never tiring to behold, may I receive the prophecy of great Bodhi! The pure fruit born from the collection of virtue and good deeds, is a body endowed with complete and wondrous glory. Emanating immeasurably, may I offer auspiciousness with an ocean of praise to that Bhagavan! Great Loving Manjushri, Samantabhadra, and Avalokiteshvara, the powerful, and so forth, may I never be separated from the Sons of the Conquerors, and may I equally enter into the conduct of liberation! By training in the ocean of liberation as an illusion, may I grasp all the methods of the supreme vehicle's ocean, and having attained the realization of the ocean of wisdom, may I liberate all beings from the ocean of existence! May I always purify the ocean of Buddha-fields, increase the ocean of the two accumulations, ripen the ocean of sentient beings, and accomplish the oceans of aspirations! Just as the Sugatas of the past, what was the power of their aspirations and prayers, may I also, in that way, quickly establish all sentient beings on the ground of Buddhahood! Thus, the praise to Amitabha, including the seven-branch offering and aspiration, was practiced by Karmapa Deshin Shekpa on the banks of the Machu River (Yellow River) in the Do-mey region (present-day Qinghai area). Furthermore, the blessed verses such as the Sukhavati aspiration composed by Kunkhyen Dolpopa are also recited. Next is the request for forgiveness: Before the Bhagavan, the Tathagata, the Arhat, the perfectly enlightened Buddha Amitabha, and all the Buddhas of the ten directions with their retinues gathered, I request that you act for the benefit of many sentient beings, including myself. At this time, we, sentient beings of the degenerate age, with base and impure conduct, due to ignorance and carelessness, our actions of body, speech, and mind are mixed with afflictions, the offerings are small and inferior, we do not distinguish between clean and unclean, and we have not been able to perform according to the rituals described in the sutras, etc. All mistakes and faults, I request the noble ones who possess great compassion to forgive. If there are any, please consider with compassion and accept forgiveness, and may you bless us so that they do not become obstacles for us in the present and future. Next is the request to depart: You, for the benefit of sentient beings
