Until all beings are established in the Great Enlightenment, I pray that you will not pass into Nirvana and remain in the Vajra body. I dedicate all the accumulated merits of myself and others in the three times for the attainment of the state of Lama and Buddha. Emaho! The essence of all the jewels of the ten directions and four times, the supreme lord of the ocean of the three roots mandala, the sole protector of the Tibetan people, the friend who subdues the difficult to tame, I pray to Padmasambhava, although residing in the pure land, having immeasurable biographies, yet appearing as the protector of the degenerate age, the son of the Victorious One. I pray to Orgyen Jikme Chökyi Wangpo, who is meaningful to all sentient beings who are connected with him. Manifesting as the youthful Manjushri in the form of a spiritual friend, the great charioteer with seven wonderful empowerments, the supreme protector of the teachings and beings of the snowy land, I pray to Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo. Having attained the prophecies of the two Buddhas of Sutra and Tantra, possessing the five great treasures of profound and vastness, the boundless wisdom of the emanation of Vairochana translator, I pray to the Immortal Teachings Two Continents. By disciplining the mind with the study of pure morality, liberating oneself with the study of meditative concentration, and maturing others with the study of stainless wisdom, I pray to the feet of Tashi Ozer. With the extraordinary wisdom of innate and acquired learning, having perfectly seen the meaning of the Buddha's words and treatises, the great Khenpo who dispels the darkness of those to be tamed, I pray to the feet of Kunsang Sonam. On the golden foundation of stainless altruism, nurturing and increasing the seedlings of Bodhicitta, leading all beings into the practice of Bodhicitta, I pray to the feet of the one named Prajna. The non-sectarian holder of the teachings of all the Victorious Ones, especially the virtuous friend who has obtained the special Dharma connection, with single-pointed reverence I pray to the Buddhas of the three times, I pray from the depths of my heart, please bless me. May the fierce experience of leisure and impermanence arise in my mind, may renunciation of samsara and aversion to worldly pleasures arise, may compassion and loving-kindness of relative Bodhicitta increase in my mind, may I realize the ultimate nature of reality as it is. Bless me to merge into realization. At the end, recite: OM AH HUM VAJRA MAHA GURU SARVA SIDDHI HUM! (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་ཨཱཿཧཱུྃ་བཛྲ་མ་ཧཱ་གུ་རུ་སརྦ་སིདྡྷི་ཧཱུྃ།, Sanskrit Devanagari:, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ āḥ hūṃ vajra mahā guru sarva siddhi hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Om Ah Hum Vajra Maha Guru Sarva Siddhi Hum!) as the essence of the supplication. Then request empowerment. Dedication and aspiration: May all the Buddhas and Gurus who are the embodiment of all, remember us with their great compassion, bestow the great empowerment of vast wisdom, and cause our lineage to ripen and be liberated. Having prayed thus, all the Gurus of the retinue dissolve into light into the main Guru himself. From the four places (navel, heart, throat, crown) of Guru Rinpoche, the embodiment of all refuges, from the letters OM AH HUM and HRIH (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་ཨཱཿཧཱུྃ་དང་ཧྲཱིཿ, Sanskrit Devanagari:, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ āḥ hūṃ hrīḥ, Literal Chinese meaning: Om Ah Hum and Hrih), radiate white, red, blue, and yellow light and letters. By dissolving into one's own four places, the four obscurations are purified. With the four empowerments, the lineage ripens, and one has the power to meditate on the four paths. May we be fortunate enough to achieve the state of the four Kayas. Through the force of devotion, the Guru dissolves into light. By dissolving into oneself, one's own three doors and the Guru's three secrets become inseparable and of one taste. Thus, rest in the natural state of devotion, without fabrication. Finally, by this merit, may all beings, myself and others, who pervade the sky, perfect the supreme path of devotion to the Guru, and may the two benefits be spontaneously accomplished by cutting through the ground and path as one. May we attain the state of complete enlightenment, the state of Buddhahood, in one lifetime. This was written at Dzongsar Trashi Lhatse Monastery by Kusa Lodro Thaye at the request of Tsering Dondrup, the great Dharma King who upholds the dual system of the four classes and practices the ten virtues, may goodness increase! The Yoga of Guru Amitayus, called the Empowerment of Longevity and Accomplishment, is present. By relying on it, the Lama, the source of all immediate and ultimate goodness, may the blessings ripen in the lineage. Therefore, strive in this profound yoga. Arouse the lineage with the mind of renunciation, establish the foundation with Bodhicitta and compassion, connect with intense devotion, and combine recitation and meditation without distraction.
