Pa. In one's own tradition: Relaxed, loose, at ease, calm. Abandoning all conceptualizations of what is to be meditated upon and the meditator, abide in that state. As it is said in the scripture: "Without recollection, without mental activity, is to remember the Buddha." It also says: "From the form aggregate up to omniscience, one should not engage in mental activity." Furthermore, "Prajnaparamita is non-conceptualization, therefore all phenomena are non-conceptualization. Prajnaparamita is equality, therefore all phenomena are equality. Prajnaparamita is unborn, therefore all phenomena are unborn. Prajnaparamita is unceasing, therefore all phenomena are unceasing." The noble Dharmapala taught the Bodhisattva Sadaprarudita in this way. It is also said: "Meditating on Prajnaparamita is meditating on all phenomena." Therefore, this is the continuation of taking refuge, the continuation of separating body and mind, the continuation of the Chö practice, the continuation of not falling into the realm of demons with one's view, and the continuation of meditating at all times. Fourth, the practice of the Chö practice, as it is said in the scripture: "Giving away head and limbs, without any fear in the mind." Among these, there are two types: general Chö practice and specific Chö practice. General Chö practice has three meanings: the preliminary is to cultivate loving-kindness and compassion, the main practice is to give one's own body as an offering endowed with the six perfections, and the conclusion is to dedicate the merit to unsurpassed enlightenment. First, contemplate all beings, primarily led by the harm-inflicting demons, with compassion, thinking: "Out of compassion, I must give away my body." Visualize the eighty thousand demon armies, primarily led by the harm-inflicters, appearing densely in front. Then enter the main practice: visualize one's own body as an extremely large body. Visualize a wisdom sword in the right hand, cutting off one's own neck and giving it away. Visualize the harm-inflicters, those who like to eat meat eating the meat, those who like to drink blood drinking the blood, and those who like to gnaw bones gnawing the bones. Then place the heart and other five internal organs into the chest and give them away, as before.

Meditate on becoming food. Visualize the upper body, including the hands, and the lower body, including the feet, being given away entirely. Let those who like to eat meat, such as harm-doers, eat the meat; let those who like to drink blood drink the blood; and let those who like to gnaw on bones gnaw on the bones. Visualize that the remaining parts of the body, as small as sesame seeds, are all eaten up. After that, do not cut off the past, do not welcome the future, and do not keep any present awareness in mind, but let it go like throwing a stone. Then cultivate compassion, abandon the body as food, and let the mind rest in its natural state. In this way, practice alternately during the day and night. Afterwards, dedicate the merit to unsurpassed enlightenment: At the end of the session, to the supreme Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha, I take refuge until enlightenment. By the merit of my generosity and other virtues, may I attain Buddhahood for the benefit of all beings. Recite this three times. Engage in whatever comfortable activity. Here, first, cultivating compassion and loving-kindness is the preparation; abandoning the body as food and resting in the natural state is the main practice; and dedicating the merit is the conclusion. Thus, compassion and loving-kindness are antidotes to anger, pacifying malevolent spirits and the pain of disease. Abandoning the body as food is an antidote to desire, pacifying the recurrence of illness and femalevolent spirits. Resting in the natural state is an antidote to ignorance, pacifying Naga spirits and chronic diseases. Furthermore, abandoning the body as food is the perfection of generosity; giving it for the benefit of sentient beings is discipline; giving it without anger is patience; giving it repeatedly is diligence; giving it without distraction is concentration; and finally, resting in the natural state of emptiness is the perfection of wisdom. Second, specifically abandoning the body as food: For example, if one's own eye hurts, feel compassion for sentient beings whose eyes hurt. In order to pacify their eye diseases, visualize that one must give away one's own eye. Visualize that eighty thousand kinds of obstacles and so on appear in front, give away one's own eye, and let the mind rest without any discrimination, just as before. Similarly, do this for whatever hurts, such as the hands. Fifth, the view does not fall into the realm of demons.
