Even if feeling unwell, open the crown aperture like opening a window, then visualize all illnesses turning blue-green, like opening a window in a small room. Exhale forcefully. Focus on releasing, exert effort, and meditate. Among the three mental illnesses, for distraction, the nature of mind is conceptual thought, visualize a blue Hūṃ (ཧཱུྃ།, हुं, hūṃ, Hūṃ) syllable in the left nostril for a moment, then inhale air from the nostril and press down. Visualize the Hūṃ syllable like a drop of ghee spreading in the single channel, then dissolving into the central channel. As the root of the central channel closes, visualize consciousness reaching the black tip. For aggregation, shift thoughts elsewhere, let the mind wander. Visualize four holes in the heart and chest in four directions and a fifth in the center, then visualize the winds and illnesses of the five elements emerging from there, turning blue-green. Hā (ཧ་, ह, ha, Ha) sound, majestic, wrathful, expel evil spirits. Visualize the lama in the heart. Visualize the lama melting and dissolving, experiencing joy reaching its peak. Do not let sounds of suffering enter his ears, do not let him feel anxious, do not listen to unpleasant words, do not engage in actions that cause fear. For fainting, rely on consciousness. Visualize a great snow mountain in the middle of the ocean, visualize yourself sitting on top of it. Occasionally, forcefully recite Phaṭ (ཕཊ།, फट, phaṭ, Phaṭ). Regularly energize consciousness and make a Hure sound. Third, concluding: For any illness and demon, practice the key points of the instructions: the foundation is the armor of view, the path is devotion to the guru, the target is a sharp weapon, the method is skillful interdependence. First, without hope and fear, make a decision on the view. Do not regard illness as illness, abandon self-grasping when sick. Second, whether the illness can be cured or not, pray to the guru. Respect the first word and trust it. Third, whether the target is clear or not, meditate continuously without wavering. Fourth, strive to accumulate merit and purify obscurations as much as possible, be mindful of conduct. In general, for all illnesses and demons, rely on view, place hope in the guru, increase the power of accumulating merit, expel with a sharp target, practice in a state of compassion, and ultimately transform into the path of reversal practice. If you grasp these six key points, whether you live or die, you will find inner peace. Fifth, counteracting adverse conditions, in general

All the instructions of the Kadampa scriptures, tantras, and gurus must be condensed into solely overcoming adverse conditions. Specifically, there are three aspects: applying remedies to adverse conditions; the faults of not applying remedies; and the merits of applying remedies. The first aspect has three points: recognizing adverse conditions; the time to apply remedies; and the method of applying remedies. The first point has three: Bad adverse conditions, the five poisons being rampant is the root cause, and being dissatisfied with the sickness and suffering that arise from it, relying on divination, rituals, and medicine. Common adverse conditions: being content with virtue, and being weary of the three trainings, etc. Good adverse conditions: when qualities arise in one's own mindstream, or when others praise and extol, arrogance and jealousy arise. Second, the time to apply remedies is: for past adverse conditions, apply remedies with subsequent regret, remembering all the past deeds with a heart of repentance, confessing from the depths of one's bones, like drawing a bow. For future adverse conditions, apply remedies with advance prevention, cultivating armor that cannot be harmed by afflictions and adverse conditions. Just like guarding a watch post, being cautious. In this way, when encountering adverse conditions, no matter how much attachment, aversion, and afflictions arise, eliminate them without a trace, like drawing on water or snow falling on a hot stone. Just like engaging in close combat on the battlefield, let them arise and dissolve on the path. Third, the method of applying remedies is: the superior cultivates emptiness with view; the intermediate cultivates visualizing the deity; the inferior cultivates compassion with action. The first method is: observe whether the five poisons afflictions reside in the body, speech, and mind of the other person, or whether they reside in your own body, speech, and mind? Does the affliction have its own nature, shape, and color? The creator of desire and the object of desire do not exist, being free from elaboration, abiding in emptiness, or abiding in the state of unborn, beyond thought. The second method is: when attachment and aversion arise, the superior transforms them into the deity and guru; the intermediate transforms them into parents; the inferior transforms them into close friends and cherished things. Transform desire into devotion and love, transform hatred into compassion and altruism, transform arrogance into contemplating the qualities of others, transform jealousy into contemplating one's own circumstances. The third method is: when afflictions arise in the mindstream, cultivate compassion for oneself,
