Like my gurus, khenpos, dharma friends, relatives, close ones, villagers, neighbors, and so on, some die suddenly from the way of death, while others are tormented by illness for a long time. While experiencing unimaginable sickness, pain, and suffering, although terrified and frightened, there is no way to help or deceive, and they die in that way. After death, there is no chance to meet again. Their whereabouts are unknown, like a stone thrown into water, unable to be separated from, yet disappearing without a trace. The corpse is taken to a cemetery and buried forever. Where the mind has gone and where it will be reborn now, no one knows. Since I cannot escape the same fate, what should I do? What if I die now? Then I feel that all the efforts in this life are like a complete madman. It's like an animal being led to the slaughterhouse. Now, intending to stay for a long time, if I let myself indulge in the eight worldly concerns, non-virtue, and neutral states, there is no greater suffering than this, so let go of all the efforts in this life. Without placing any hope in the next life, in a trembling state, without letting the mind wander, I resolve to give up this life and strive to practice, how should I do it in my heart? Like a bellows, briefly lift the spirit. Therefore, it is very important to meditate on impermanence of death first. Think of those who have died before. Since I cannot escape the same fate, when death comes, all enjoyments and fame cannot be taken away, but remain behind, of no benefit. At that time, the only benefit is the Dharma, so first become the cause of entering the Dharma. It is also important in the middle, because since it is unknown when one will die, there is no time to stay leisurely, become a whip to urge oneself to practice. It is also important in the end, because one will realize that death is the clear light Dharmakaya, or that the nature of death is the ultimate truth free from all elaboration. Therefore, strive to practice this. Two sessions. The third is to contemplate the results of actions. So, after death, will it disappear like being thrown far away, like a candle being extinguished? If birth here is a free combination, that would be fine. But that is not the case, one must follow the karma one has created and take rebirth. Among them, if karma is mainly created by anger, if one commits sins against a superior object, and if one practices intense and numerous non-virtuous deeds, one will be born in hell. Mainly by attachment

Driven entirely by anger, one accumulates karma; relying on middling objects, one accumulates sins; practicing middling ten non-virtues, and engaging in a moderate amount, one is born as a hungry ghost. Driven entirely by ignorance, one accumulates karma; relying on ordinary and inferior objects, one accumulates sins; practicing minor non-virtues, and engaging in a small amount, one is born as an animal. Engaging in the three types of contaminated virtue—great, middling, and small—one is born as gods, demigods, and humans. Therefore, whatever karma one accumulates will not be wasted in vain; it will remain with oneself. Like drawing a straight line, one will experience the result without error. Therefore, one should always examine one's own three doors (body, speech, and mind), and cultivate joy in those that have turned into virtue, because that will not be wasted in vain. For the benefit of sentient beings, seal it with a pure dedication. For non-virtues, one should properly perform confession and vows of repentance. It is very important not to associate with sin and downfall, and to strive for correction. Whenever afflictions and non-virtuous thoughts arise, one should immediately destroy them, and make a firm resolution not to let them prevail. One should not reverse the order of abandoning evil and adopting virtue, but put it into practice. These are the three sessions. Fourth, contemplating the faults of samsara: As mentioned above, due to the results of practicing various kinds of non-virtuous and virtuous actions, one gradually takes birth in the lower realms. If one is born in hell, there are eight hot hells, eight cold hells, and two neighboring and solitary hells, totaling eighteen hells. In each of those hells, there is unbearable suffering, immeasurable suffering, only suffering, and no opportunity to enjoy happiness. If one is born in the eight hot hells, how much does it hurt now if one is burned by a mere touch? How would it be to have one's internal organs burned by boiling bile, to be cooked in copper vessels, and so on, experiencing unimaginable suffering? Even being pricked by a thorn is painful; what to say of having one's body cut into pieces and dissected by burning swords and saws? Even wearing slightly thin clothes feels cold; if one is born in the cold hells, naked and without clothes, with piercing cold winds, trapped in dangerous places, one's body cracking into pieces, and so on, experiencing immeasurable suffering, that is how painful it is. If one is born as a hungry ghost, one cannot bear to go without food for even one day now; if one is born there, considering a human month as a day,
