become one. According to its arising method, the introduction and guidance are also combined into one. If this is not done, and the introduction and guidance are unified from the beginning, then for rigid Dharma stories, and later being guided and instilled by others, there will be no progress, only turning into a dry understanding, which is harmful. Therefore, corresponding guidance should be given according to each person's view. This is the order of the main practice. Lecture 26. Third, the follow-up is to enhance and eliminate obstacles, including the arising of qualities, the way of progressing on the path, and the way of manifesting the fruition. The first point is: from the difficulty of obtaining leisure and endowment to the cultivation of Bodhicitta, all should be regarded as within the scope of Mahamudra. For all practices of the generation stage and completion stage, one must have those three key points. In all four activities, one must recognize one's own nature and combine it with Mahamudra. Practice in the state of non-fabrication, free from elaboration, and inseparable from Shamatha and Vipassana. Based on this, enhance through the four activities. In addition, attachment to accepting and rejecting good and non-good, the idea of attaining Buddhahood at this time when the three times have not been accomplished, the idea of taking one's own mind, which inherently possesses the five wisdoms, as ordinary, and the desire to be liberated through the wisdom of hearing and thinking instead of focusing on the wisdom arising from meditation, all these wrong cognitions of object, time, essence, nature, and wisdom should be abandoned. Correct the posture, abide in the original position, or in action, observe its essence and abide, and transform and avoid fatigue by merging meditation and posture into one. For any good or bad experiences and realizations, abandon attachment and aversion. One must be skilled in beginning, interrupting, and finally maintaining, that is, one must learn the three kinds of skillfulness. Furthermore, in short, for any experience and realization such as bliss, clarity, and non-thought, if one is attached, one will go astray and be destroyed, so one must abandon attachment and aversion. Lecture 23. Through reasoning such as one or many, separate from one, etc., it is determined that all phenomena are empty in their own nature. If emptiness is created by conceptual mind, it will lose its essence. Holding emptiness as an antidote and afflictions as what should be abandoned, not understanding that everything is emptiness, that is, emptiness becomes an antidote. Not understanding that all paths of the base, path, and fruit are the path to Buddhahood, that is,

Thinking that there is no other way to understand except emptiness itself, and not considering the aspect of skillful means, is emptiness going astray. Without experience, practicing emptiness with svabhava (藏文:སྭ་བྷཱ་བ་,梵文天城体:स्वभाव,梵文罗马拟音:svabhāva,汉语字面意思:self-nature) and so on, and expanding everything with emptiness, thereby belittling the results of actions, is emptiness expanding and going astray. These four ways of going astray should be avoided. These emptinesses created by conceptual mind are not unsuitable for beginners, but should eventually be abandoned. After that, strive to maintain whatever arises in a natural and unattached way, without acceptance or rejection, elimination or retention. Twenty-eighth session. Furthermore, whenever fondness for thoughts and afflictions arises, do not let thoughts spread like brothers, but rely on violent shaking to overcome laziness. Regard thoughts as enemies, regard these thoughts as benefactors, and place them in a state of non-attachment, so that they can be eliminated. Regarding afflictions as enemies; thinking that all phenomena do not truly exist, thereby belittling the results of actions, is regarding emptiness as an enemy; being attached to the various appearances, feeling uneasy about them, is regarding appearances as enemies; also, because one possesses some qualities, seeing that others do not possess these qualities of emptiness, one feels compassion for them, thinking: I will benefit these people, and without success, abandoning one's own virtuous deeds and engaging in them, is regarding compassion as an enemy; when the view has not been established, thinking that one is omniscient, thereby engaging in trivial matters such as sound, measurement, and manufacturing, and abandoning meditation, is regarding the thoughts of cause and effect as enemies. These five situations are also the same, whenever these thoughts arise, observe their essence, and maintain them without acceptance or rejection, negation or affirmation, so that they can be eliminated. Similarly, the faults of meditation, such as dullness, agitation, sinking, and other faults, as well as diseases and evil spirits, obstacles to meditation, and sudden illnesses, sufferings, hardships, and special experiences and realizations, whatever arises, abandon attachment and hatred, observe their essence, and maintain the natural state, so that they will naturally subside. Alternatively, observe the place of birth, dwelling, and going of thoughts, diseases, evil spirits, obstacles, etc., as well as colors, shapes, etc. Alternatively, practice giving and receiving for diseases, etc. Alternatively, regard the various manifestations of diseases, etc., as Nirmanakaya (藏文:སྤྲུལ་སྐུ།), awareness as Sambhogakaya (藏文:ལོངས་སྐུ།), and emptiness as Dharmakaya (藏文:ངོ་བོ་ཉིད་སྐུ།). These three bodies.
