Obstruction. Abandoning but cannot abandon, pulling back but cannot pull back, grasping but cannot grasp. Like a crow flying from a boat. For the mind that moves to another place, do not gather it. Like a wise person caring for an ox, a yogi lets awareness increase. Thus it is said. Also, from the Tantra of the Lamp of Secret Wisdom: Without grasping, let it be self-illuminating, do not rely. Nakedly leave the clear awareness unobstructed. Thus it is said. Like arising as an obstruction, like departing as grasping, therefore there is no need to specifically prevent anything, let it go wherever it goes. In this way, no place to go can be found. Since it comes naturally, there is no need to specifically prevent anything. Do not gather, do not move, no need to specifically scatter, do not think, do not meditate. Without fabrication, relax in its own state, in the state of relaxing and just leaving it, sometimes various thoughts of liking and disliking may suddenly arise. For whatever thought arises, look at it intently, from where did this thought first arise? Where does it reside now? Where will it ultimately go? What is its shape like? Is it square? Is it round? Is it triangular? Is it long? What color is it? Is it white? Is it red? Is it yellow? Is it blue? Or is it black? Look at where it resides? Is it on the crown of the head? Likewise, look at where it resides in the head, body, upper body, and limbs? Look intently at where it is now. In this way, generate devotion to the lama, relax in the unfabricated state of mind, and look at the mind, just take this as the main point of practice and practice it. It is said that some kind of reality will arise from within. When the time comes, you will completely realize, "I have been misunderstanding this state all along. Now I will not make the same mistake again." At that moment, your own precious mind will appear as the Dharmakaya, without needing to abandon thoughts, thoughts will naturally dissolve into their own nature. Without needing to prove emptiness, emptiness will naturally appear. If you know that thought itself is Dharmata, then there is no need to seek Dharmadhatu from elsewhere. Thus it is said. The thoughts that come and go, that itself is the Dharmakaya, the natural appearance is Dharmata. At that moment, closing the eyes does not require meditation, preventing appearances does not require meditation. The appearance in the field of the eyes is the union of appearance and emptiness, the sound in the ears is sound and emptiness, the mind is bliss and emptiness.
