Regarding focusing the mind on the parts of the perfected body in meditation, although many methods are taught, for most people, just these are sufficient. If you find a place of rest, rest a little in the nature of that place, without being too forceful. Shorten the sessions and increase the number of sessions. During the breaks between sessions, avoid watching dramas, engaging in intense activities, and excessive talking, and allow the body and mind to relax. Secondly, the objectless method has two aspects: with wind and without wind. The first is: initially, relying on counting breaths to focus the mind, simply be mindful of the outgoing and incoming breaths, without allowing the mind to wander elsewhere. First, count three breaths in the first cycle, then seven, and so on, focusing the mind accordingly. If the mind becomes agitated, rest a little and allow it to settle, then observe the experience. Then, relying on filling the breath to focus the mind: exhale three or nine breaths through the mouth, then slowly inhale through both nostrils, along with swallowing a bit of saliva, without pressing too hard, but gently pressing the air into the abdomen. Hold the breath as long as possible, without allowing the mind to wander, remaining focused. If you cannot hold it, exhale slowly through the nostrils, and as the breath goes out and comes in, simply be mindful of the outgoing and incoming breaths as before, without allowing the mind to wander elsewhere. If you feel tired, allow the breath to flow freely in and out of the nostrils, without allowing the mind to wander elsewhere, relax, and simply maintain awareness with mindfulness. Rest a little, then allow it to settle again and observe the experience. If the mind becomes scattered after doing this, it is because you are being too forceful, so relax. If the mind is dull and very agitated, it is because you are tired, so rest for a day. If you feel dizzy or disoriented, it is because the wind is moving, so rely on nutritious food and get a massage. Up to this point, it is called making the unfocused mind focused, that is, you must find a place of rest for the mind. If during this time, the movement of the mind becomes more frequent, so that the place of rest becomes small, then all the previous thoughts scattered like a stream are due to ignorance. But now, one thought arises, two thoughts arise, and wisdom catches them, and you find a little place of rest, so do not consider this a fault. Do not chase after the beginning of thoughts, do not follow the development of thoughts, but strive to relax, and thus the abiding will appear. If you do not recognize the form of the mind's scattering or abiding

If "khu 'phrig ma" does not arise, after a loud "phat" sound, or like a loud shout, in the interval between the cessation of the previous thought and the non-arising of the subsequent thought, the mind is in a state of non-thought. This is a part of the state of non-thought. Then, thoughts such as "this should be done, that should be done" arise, which are extensions of discursive thoughts. By implying these meanings, sometimes tightening, sometimes loosening, etc., skillfully guide through various methods, put it into the state of "'phrig," and diligently practice it, then this state of non-thought can be attained. Second, the state of no wind: Having attained various states of mind in this way, the body posture remains as before, and the mind does not rely on external forms, sounds, etc., or internal breath coming and going, etc. The past, such as what has been done, what has happened, etc., is not thought about; the future, such as what should be done, what should happen, etc., is not anticipated; the present, such as what appears, what abides, etc., is not kept in mind. Relax the body and mind, and abide in this state in a relaxed, loose, and comfortable manner. While abiding in this state, if the mind is distracted, repeat the previous method. After a short time, increase the number of practices. For all methods of seeking this state, if one is too tense or exerts too much effort, it will become an obstacle to the mind abiding in a relaxed manner, so in most cases, relaxing the body and mind is more appropriate. When abiding in this way, if the mind is agitated or scattered, sit in a warm place, take nutritious food, massage, and lower the gaze. Focus the mind below the navel and suppress the strong abdominal breath. If the mind is dull or lethargic, sit in a cool place, splash cool water on the face, expel impure air, and raise the gaze. Generate mental strength and practice diligently. If still dull, walk around to refresh the body. If one is confused and ignorant, prostrate and circumambulate in special places, vigorously perform offerings and confessions, earnestly pray for the arising of samadhi, and put it into practice. This is called "making the mind stable," that is, after attaining this state, if one is not skilled in abiding in a state of no reliance, one cannot benefit from the formless, so it is important to become skilled. In addition, if a state like unconsciousness appears, it is flawed, so practice diligently and repeat short practices frequently. If dullness or lethargy appears, with only a little awareness, the flaws will gradually be purified, so for the time being, let it self-purify, or slightly generate mental strength and practice whatever is appropriate.
