Instructions on Illusions: Integrating Appearance and Emptiness without Attachment: Now, in the realm of the five senses, although various appearances such as forms and sounds arise, there is not the slightest real existence in external objects. Therefore, like omens in a dream, be certain that these are all images of your own deluded mind. In this way, one understands that the objects of grasping have no inherent nature. In inner awareness, although various active thoughts arise, the nature of mind is empty, without substance or anything to grasp. Thoughts have no substance or anything to grasp. All thoughts are appearances of pure mind in the realm of objects, like a silk tent appearing in a mirror. By analyzing the picture of emptiness, one understands that all attachments are free from elaboration. In this way, one eliminates the attachment to the grasper and the grasped, thereby destroying the foundation of samsara, making it impossible for karma to be diverted. Second, the illusion of habitual sleep is integrated into clear light dependent arising: Although all appearances in dreams are not truly existent, the deluded appearances of self-awareness leave traces of habit, leading to continuous samsara. Therefore, in order to liberate ignorance into wisdom, one should practice the key instructions on sleep and dreams. First, one should seize all daytime appearances with mindfulness, being certain that they are all dreams. Before going to sleep, one should be aware in the dream. After recognizing the dream, one should aspire to abide in one's own virtuous practice, and repeatedly make strong aspirations. Then, focus the mind on a red drop the size of a bean in the throat enjoyment wheel, and then fall asleep. Afterwards, when falling asleep and dreaming, one should recognize one's own delusion by recognizing "this must be a dream." In this way, one eliminates the clinging to the reality of daytime appearances. Because one's own virtuous practice in which one abides clearly appears, one will not have doubts about karma. In this way, one will not have doubts about the bardo. Third, the illusion of karmic bardo is integrated into the clear light of the Dharmakaya: When death comes, one should pray to the lama and strongly aspire to recognize the bardo in the bardo. In the time between the cessation of the outer breath and the cessation of the inner breath, the clear light of the Dharmakaya will nakedly appear to all beings. For those who are familiar with clear light, they will recognize the clear light of death and attain Buddhahood in that very moment. For those who are not familiar with clear light, because they cannot recognize the clear light, when the inner breath disappears, they will enter the bardo.

O, when delusion arises, the alms-gathering monks do not gather, food is cut off, the bed is cleaned, the corpse is discarded, and death will be recognized. At that time, thinking that one is now in the bardo, remembering the lama and the instructions, remembering the experience of the clear and bright path, thereby manifesting the fruit. If one is accustomed to the generation stage, one will attain Buddhahood in the form of whatever deity one is. If one has practiced the completion stage, one will go to the realm of the dakinis with the light body of the bardo. If one understands the meaning of Mahamudra, then the wisdom of awareness will dissolve into the dharmadhatu of the Mother, and one will be liberated into the Dharmakaya. Homage to the precious guru). From the instructions of the nine dharmas of the Formless Vajra Dakini, meditate on the self-liberation Mahamudra. The meaning of this is: the nature of knowable things, the reality of the nature of mind, although abiding in the inseparability of Buddha and sentient beings, the power of emptiness arises as awareness, the power of awareness arises as phenomena, from one's own phenomena one is deluded, grasping onto objects as real. Because one does not recognize one's own awareness, one's own mind arises as grasping. With grasping and the grasped, the foundation of samsara is laid. Suffering spreads, like mistaking a rope for a snake. Some abandon, some enjoy, some transform, but because they have not reached the level of reality, they are unable to self-liberate in delusion. It is like disease and treatment conflicting with each other. Now here, the method of self-liberating delusion is the meaning of Mahamudra. For this, there are three key instructions, the first is to cut the root of grasping and the grasped: sit comfortably on a comfortable cushion, with the pride of one's own yidam deity, visualize the lama above one's head and pray. All phenomena of samsara and nirvana, external and meaning, etc., are not established, one's own mind is a deluded appearance, completely cut off everything like a dream. Then, does the mind have an entity? The mind is only a thought, only an awareness, only a designation, know that it is not truly established. Moreover, when the mind looks at the mind, it transcends the objects of the six senses, and it is not established as the nature of anything, know that it is like the center of a clear sky. Second, cut off the branches of delusion: like this, in the state of knowing that both grasping and the grasped are not established, all the awareness of the observer and the observed, the meditator and the meditated, and
