Like that, through the Dakinis of the three places of companionship, one will go to the place of bliss of the Dakinis, or to the pure land of pure aspiration. Third, explaining that in the intermediate state of similar womb births, one will become a Buddha in the next life: Like this, because of little familiarity, one will enter the womb. Because the bad imprints of manifesting attachment to this life are placed in the continuum of the alaya consciousness, the appearance of parents engaging in union will arise in whichever of the six realms one takes birth. At that time, due to the moment of arising attachment and aversion, one's perception is confused by karma, and one will enter the womb. Because one has not realized the uncontaminated mind in this life, it is the nature of things that a contaminated body is taken and conceptual thoughts arise. In general, the womb entrance is like the holes in harvested straw that cover this great earth. The intermediate state being, like a mote of dust in a sunbeam, has practiced so that even if a body is taken, it cannot be obtained. If born as a male, one is attached to the mother and hates the father; if born as a female, one is attached to the father and hates the mother. Both birth places are connected by both attachment and aversion. Therefore, one should choose a birth place. There is choosing with knowledge and without knowledge; knowledge is because one has the instructions of the intermediate state, has clairvoyance, and has the power of aspiration. That is, the womb of a virtuous spiritual friend, or a family of noble lineage, such as royalty or Brahmins, which is complete, virtuous, and wealthy. If one is born in the higher realms, one will feel like going to a garden with jeweled steps, or a heavenly palace, or a garden decorated with flowers and trees. If one is born in the lower realms, one will be frightened and run away because of being naked and blown by the wind, etc., and will feel like going to a rock cave, a cliff overhang, a grassy shelter, a thicket, a dense forest, a dilapidated house, a ruin, etc., and then one will enter the womb. Therefore, it is crucial to make vast and pure aspirations, such as being born into a family with good lineage and Dharma, and encountering the Dharma lineage. In visualization, one should also visualize oneself in a good womb, like a deity on a lotus and sun-moon seat in a palace, thinking, "I will be born as a human."

What causes it to form? It is because the fundamental element is wind, so its function is breathing in and out, and increasing semen and blood. Then, the function of fire is to prevent the semen and blood from decaying, creating space and heat. Then, the function of water is to gather the semen and blood without scattering them, and to balance the body. Then, the function of earth is to generate and harden muscles, bones, and so on. It makes the body's reproductive organs protrude and grow. Then, the semen and blood form into a mass. In the first week, it is blurry; in the second week, it is wriggling; in the third week, it is round; in the fourth week, it hardens; in the fifth week, it is like leather; in the sixth week, it has the form of the all-pervading Lord; it forms from the first existence onwards, the seed of inner heat abides in the shape of half an 'A' (Tibetan: ཨ, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Romanization: a, Literal Chinese meaning: A). In the seventh week, the limbs and branches protrude and appear. Then, nine months and ten days in the womb is the state of the ten bhumis. From the fifth month, if it is a boy, it forms into the shape of a vajra, hating the father and desiring the mother, so it looks to the mother's right side, with its face turned back. If it is a girl, it forms into the shape of a bell, hating the mother and desiring the father, so it leans to the left, with its face looking forward. At that time, the wind and mind abide in the dhūti, so there is no need for food, and it possesses clairvoyance; because the body has formed, it is harmed by heat, cold, and so on. From the tenth month, the moving wind enters from the mother's right nostril and enters the child's (here referring to a boy) left nostril, the father's bindu in the form of 'Hūṃ' (Tibetan: ཧྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Hūṃ) is sent to the crown of the head, and the mother's essence in the form of 'A Shad' (Tibetan: ཨ་ཤད, No exact Sanskrit equivalent found, Sanskrit Romanization: a shad, Literal Chinese meaning: A Shad) is sent four fingers below the navel. The propelling wind reverses the head and tail, and with the sound of 'Ah Hūṃ' (Tibetan: ཨ་ཧྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: अः हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: āḥ hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Ah Hūṃ) emerges from the birth canal, it is the Nirmāṇakāya. It wears the infant's Dharma robes, joins the palms at the crown of the head, and with the conduct and precepts of benefiting beings, it is the nature of the Nirmāṇakāya. Even so, it is obscured by the delusion of ignorance and cannot recognize it, so by meeting a virtuous friend who teaches the oral transmission and receiving instructions, one will attain Buddhahood without being interrupted by other rebirths. Third, mixing the bardo of the path has three aspects: for those with desire, mixing desire into the uncontaminated in the bardo of birth and death; for those with delusion, mixing delusion into clear light in the bardo of dreams.
