stretch out. Press down on the round piece of wood below with the instep of your foot. Keep your mind clear. Grab the hanging object with your hands and go forward. Also, going backward, doing this will eliminate (obstacles). Regarding the narrow passage: Pile up a round piece of wood or a stone on either the left or right side, and place a white stone. Place a black one on top of that. Slide them with bamboo or the like, watching without blinking, and placing them without grasping, it is said that it will immediately eliminate (obstacles). Fifth, regarding enhancing the power of meditation, there are eight aspects: determining five placements, relaxing, transferring key points, and relying on nectar. First is tightening, second is loosening, third is decreasing, and fourth is increasing, these should be done alternately. During the morning session, both body and mind should be tightened, and the duration should be reduced and shortened. During the late morning session, both body and mind should be loosened, and the duration should be lengthened and increased. During the noon session, tighten and decrease. During the evening session, loosen and increase, and the sessions should be alternated. In this way, the power will be slightly enhanced, and then the days should be alternated. On the first day, meditate and decrease, on the second day, loosen and increase, and so on in sequence, and the power will be enhanced. Fifth is alternating food: During the first session or day, do not eat or drink. On the second day, eat and drink, and alternate in this way. Sixth is to increase the freedom of conduct: In the circumstances of what appears to your own eyes, if there are things that need to be done, do not stop them, and do whatever is comfortable directly, and rely on the nectar of conduct. Seventh is to transfer the key points of the mind to various things: For the various key points of objects that appear in the meditation stages and instructions of the sutras and tantras spoken by the Buddhas, also meditate on them in sequence, and in this way, power will arise. Eighth is to rely on the nectar of various places: Taking the example of going to the meadow in summer to see the blooming flowers, for pleasant places and beautiful objects, enjoy them with the senses, and in this way, the mindstream will be satisfied. In this way, the power of realization will be enhanced. In all of these times, the most important thing is to always keep the mind from wavering from the samadhi that focuses on reality itself. In these times, even if it is not included in the root chapter, there will additionally appear five instructions for suppressing errors: rotating like a wheel, rolling up like a ball of yarn, many holes...

Section 20: Practicing the Absence of Upper and Lower Wheels. Practicing the Extremely Courageous Yoga. First, if you feel swelling or pain in the body, visualize a yellow wheel with eight spokes at the navel. First, meditate on this wheel rotating to the right. If that is uncomfortable, meditate on it rotating to the left. As the wheel rotates larger and larger, meditate on the body also becoming larger and larger. If you feel that the wheel has become very large, abandon the visualization of the wheel and visualize the body as empty inside, rising into the sky, and disappearing. This will immediately free you from the ailment. Second, if a specific part of the body, such as the heart, is in pain, visualize a hole suddenly appearing at the site of the pain. Then, exhale forcefully, visualizing a blue breath, as thick as a horse's tail, flowing out of the hole and coiling up a span away. Then, temporarily abandon this visualization. Then, visualize the hole becoming larger again, and the breath becoming thicker than before, from the thickness of a thread to the thickness of a rope, coiling up as before. This will immediately free you from the ailment. Third, if the whole body is in pain, visualize many holes appearing all over the body like the eyes of a sieve, with blue breath emanating from all of them, and exhale forcefully. This will immediately eliminate the ailment. It is said that this is somewhat harmful to the body. Fourth, if the upper part of the body is in pain and discomfort, visualize the area above the neck as empty like a bamboo tube, and then visualize blue breath flowing out, exhaling forcefully. If the lower part of the body is in pain and discomfort, visualize the lower part as empty like a bamboo tube, and then meditate on blue breath flowing downwards. If the breath flows downwards, contract the lower wind forcefully. This will immediately free you from the ailment. Fifth, if many obstacles, such as offerings, arise, visualize a very low pit below your seat, and then visualize your body sinking downwards. It is said that there is nothing that this cannot eliminate. Sixth, combining the warm signs of the mind with omens: By practicing properly in the order described above, the mind will first abide as desired, certainty about the true nature of reality will arise, and it will become slightly better.
