It (the nature of mind) has no acceptance or rejection. The essence of mind does not become better through practicing the path, therefore it cannot be cultivated through the path. In the essence of mind, there is no difference between the dharmas of samsara and nirvana, therefore there is no hope or fear for the result. When a yogi practices the path, six aspects must be taken as the path: arising from experiences such as the third empowerment, thus there is production by cause; there is destruction due to conditions such as dullness and agitation; it is exemplified by examples such as reflections and the sky; abandoning discursive thoughts and generating non-discursive thoughts, thus there is acceptance and rejection; through the method of enhancement, samadhi is elevated, thus it can be cultivated through the path. The highest achiever attains accomplishment in one lifetime, the intermediate achiever in the bardo, and the lowest achiever obtains the result within seven or sixteen lifetimes, thus there is hope and fear. For this, there are also categories of names: unchanging in the three times is Suchness; the reality of things is the unconditioned meaning; existing from the beginning by its own nature, therefore it is the Dharma-nature that is primordially established; pervading all of samsara and nirvana without good or bad, therefore it is the co-emergent wisdom; showing the result of samsara and nirvana, hence it is called the Teacher, King of Mind. These are also the wisdom to be realized, the view of realization, one's own inherent awareness, proper attention, sequentially applied to the first bhumi of yogis, and it is said that from here the beginning of the path is grasped. Second, there are three times for understanding: the time of the cause, the time of the path, and the time of the result. First, abiding as the cause, in the time of sentient beings, the network of bodily channels, the wind of speech activity, the countless scattering of mental discursive thoughts, all three are gathered by the discursive thoughts of the mind, therefore discursive thoughts are inconceivable. Second, in the time of practicing the path, initially grasping the mind through the symbolic meaning of the third empowerment and the instructions on settling the mind in the sky, like iron being touched by the alchemy of turning it into gold, the three doors of the time of the cause are blessed, and lightness, warmth, and happiness arise in the body; various words of speech, laughter, and forceful expressions arise in speech; and samadhis of skillful means, wisdom, and union arise in the mind. All three are gathered by samadhi, therefore samadhi is inconceivable. Third, at the time of the complete fruition
