Combining and mixing with being separated from all extremes of elaboration such as cessation, abiding, and scattering, and practicing, as it says in the sutra of samadhi like the sky: With the nectar of the noble guru, know your own mind to be like the sky, without straying from its meaning, this is called samadhi. And so on, there are many occurrences. Third, action Mahamudra: practicing the action of forceful arising, the yogi who possesses realization does not make any expectations of good or doubts of bad, but directly cuts through whatever appearances arise without clinging or calculation to all actions that come before him. As it says in the Avatamsaka Sutra: Whoever wishes to enter this realm of the Victorious Ones, should purify their mind like the sky. With a mind like the sky, enter this, abandoning thoughts, discriminations, and grasping at concepts. And as the great Brahmin said: Like a fire blazing from the forest, all these appearances that come before you, do them together with your root emptiness. Thus, having decided that everything is emptiness, it is said to act spontaneously without fear of anything. Fourth, experience Mahamudra: In general, if the practice of meditation goes to the key point, then wisdom will separate the clear from the turbid, and various kinds of experiences will arise in the mind, which cannot be determined as a single one. If we collect the main types, there is the experience of bliss, which is pervaded by bliss, such as not feeling the presence or absence of body and mind, and not knowing day or night, and the mind is as clear as crystal, and one thinks that one knows the minds of others. Like the appearance of light, one thinks that one can see all kinds of objects near and far even at night, which is the experience of clarity, and the experience of all things appearing as empty things, and not thinking about anything, like a clear sky, which is the experience of non-thought. If one knows that the nature of all those experiences is free from birth and death and that their nature is unrecognizable, and that they are unborn emptiness, then it will become the path. If one does not know it in this way and engages in grasping at reality and clinging to truth, then one will fall into the three realms. In particular, it is said here that the experience is the union of bliss and emptiness, so practicing the combination of the wisdom of example and meaning is the experience itself, and from this, great bliss that does not change into the supreme and emptiness Mahamudra that possesses all supreme aspects will arise.

The union of Mahamudra, non-attachment to bliss, clarity without conceptualization, transcendence of all that is with characteristics, is the meaning of the unwritten Mahamudra. Third, the fruition Mahamudra: by perfecting the practice of such a path, the fruition, the ground Mahamudra, becomes manifest, abiding in the original, natural state of being, attaining the Dharmakaya enlightenment. For the sake of others, the image of the Rupakaya appears, and as long as Samsara exists, the benefit of beings will spontaneously be accomplished. Second, the teachings on the path to be cultivated have thirteen root dharmas, each with three branch dharmas, totaling nine. Among these, the three root dharmas are: first, to hold the mind; second, to subdue the mind; and third, to place the mind on Suchness itself. The three branches of the first are: to hold where it has gone, to protect where it is placed, and to abandon the two extremes. The three branches of the middle are: not to let it wander where it has gone, not to let it slacken where it is placed, and not to let it be scattered above and below. The three branches of the last are: to learn from examples, to apply to the meaning, and to mix examples and meaning. These are the three essentials of the key instructions, summarized as the nine root dharmas briefly stated. The preliminaries to all of these are: in a secluded place, on a comfortable cushion, sit in the lotus position. Straighten the body, and in the space in front, visualize the root guru inseparable from the noble Tara, surrounded by the lineage gurus and the ocean of refuge objects, vividly present. With intense devotion, recite any refuge formula many times. With all-pervading sentient beings in mind, generate the aspiring and engaging Bodhicitta again and again with strong compassion. Then, visualize your own chosen deity, Hevajra or Yogini, etc., as a form that is apparent but without inherent existence, instantly clear. On your crown, visualize the root guru abiding in the essence of the union of all Buddhas. Generate devotion from the depths of your heart, to the point of tears, and pray steadfastly, also making lineage supplications. The first branch of the main practice of holding the mind is: clear away stale air and rest the mind in a non-conceptual state. When thoughts arise, immediately seize them with mindfulness.
