Having measured, even the wisdom of individual discernment is placed in non-objectification, not thinking of anything, not paying attention to anything. When meditating in the state of emptiness like the sky, without meditating, many doors of Samadhi of the union of Shamatha and Vipassana, such as the Precious Lamp, are born. If one properly combines with pure scriptures and instructions, then the inverted clinging will be purified, and wisdom will increase, and one will realize the uncommon Great Madhyamaka view. However, in the chapter of the collection of Samadhi, it says: 'Even if one relies on Samadhi, if one clings to it, it is called a child's play, and one will not attain Nirvana.' Therefore, some who boast that the experience of emptiness through contemplation is the nature of reality say: 'The Great Madhyamaka is like us alone, and all others are wrong.' Thus, they lose their way. And some, without liberating their own nature into transcendence of mind, count the arising and ceasing, mistaking it for Mahamudra, and lose the nature of relying on experience. These two are the same, except for the difference in the size of their names, they cannot transcend the three realms. Therefore, to enter the gate of the wisdom of omniscience, one must have non-inverted understanding, experience, and realization of scriptures, reasoning, and instructions, so that understanding, experience, and realization are integrated, not contradicting everything, and one needs to hit the point of view, meditation, and practice that transcends everything. Those who rely on the Yoga practice of the Maitreya teachings, if they can first cut off the illusion, appearance, and temporary elaborations of phenomena with the scriptures and commentaries of the intermediate Dharma wheel, that is the best. If one cannot do it with just these elaborations, then one must definitely study the Five Maitreya Teachings or the Ratnagotravibhāga. If one cannot do that either, then as it is said: 'From knowing that there is nothing other than the mind, then knowing that the mind itself does not exist, the wise know that both do not exist, and the one without them abides in the Dharmadhatu.' From beginningless time, one's own mind relies on the temporary defilements of ignorance, and various phenomena appear like illusions in a dream in the face of unexamined and unanalyzed realms. But if one examines, then nothing is established, because each of their own natures is empty. Therefore, all appearances are the magic of the mind, and the grasped object that appears like an external object appears but has no nature, like the moon in the water.

And the reality of conventional truth, and the mind of grasping, neither exists externally nor internally, has no shape or color, is not established as a real thing, and arises from the stream of mistaken self-grasping as if from nothing, the eight aggregates and their branches, like flowers in the sky, are originally empty, yet the wisdom of the emptiness of both grasper and grasped, from the Buddha to sentient beings, pervades all the Dharma-nature—the Tathagatagarbha, naturally luminous. That which has never been stained by sudden defilements, the reality of ultimate truth, correctly recognizing that point, and abiding in that state, is the intention of the Maitreya Dharma. Such observation is necessary to be done in advance, and after determining the absence of extremes, the practice called union arises, abiding in the original, self-born wisdom. In terms of emptiness, it is empty by the conceptualization of clinging to elaboration. In terms of realization, each is realized by the wisdom of self-awareness. Secondly, the actual practice is divided into three parts: preliminary, main, and subsequent. The first part is: That, like the wish-fulfilling jewel of the Tathagatagarbha, according to the order of purifying gross, subtle, and extremely subtle defilements, in accordance with the first turning of the wheel, the four Dharma sutras should be contemplated and meditated upon, like this: The end of birth is death, the end of gathering is separation, the end of accumulation is exhaustion, the end of rising is falling. All these conditioned dharmas are even more impermanent than bubbles and lightning, and relying on the near-taking of karma and afflictions, in the three realms, the five aggregates such as form revolve and are defiled. Like a bee trapped in a jar, this is the nature of suffering, the driving of suffering, trapped in the prison of suffering. From form to omniscience, all conventional dharmas are not established as true, therefore they are empty, and the selflessness of both grasper and grasped, the basis of the emptiness of all dharmas, liberation from delusion and sudden sorrow, the great Nirvana that is completely accomplished, is permanent, stable, peaceful, and excellent. Thinking like this, recite in words: All conditioned things are impermanent. All that is defiled is suffering. All dharmas are empty and selfless. Nirvana is peace. Recite this repeatedly. The detailed common preliminaries appear in the stages of the path, and it is necessary to make them definitely enter the mindstream.
