Established the system of teaching and practice, numerous virtuous disciples who were proficient in the three studies propagated the Buddha's teachings to vast areas. In particular, he was known for his vast biographies and boundless activities for the benefit of beings, such as the renowned Four Great Deeds. Due to the perfection of the yoga of the two stages, he possessed unparalleled accomplishments, and even the glorious Lord of Secrets, Vajrapani, praised his inconceivable qualities. Furthermore, after that lifetime, he was reborn in Tushita before Maitreya Buddha as the Bodhisattva Manjushri Essence, and manifested numerous incarnations. This was written by that very person who had received the prophecy of becoming the eleventh Buddha of the Fortunate Aeon, the Buddha with Auspicious Eyes. Second, for whose benefit was it composed? Generally, it was for the sentient beings to be tamed who possess the three lineages, those who seek liberation, have good fortune, and faith. In particular, it was for the sake of Chakho Gonpo Ngawang Drakpa, the foremost of the disciples who had cultivated their minds in the Great Vehicle for many lifetimes and had special karmic connections. Third, from where was it collected? Although it is a collection of the profound essential points from the sutras and tantras spoken by the fully enlightened Buddha, along with their commentaries, in particular, it is a collection of the essential points of the first turning of the wheel of definite renunciation, and the middle and later turnings of the wheel of the two, bodhicitta and view. Fourth, to which category does it belong? Whether one enters the door of sutra or tantra, these three paths are like the foundation, heart, and lifeblood, and because they are indispensable, they belong to both the Great and Small Vehicles. Fifth, the meaning of summarizing the beginning and end is: all the subjects of the Buddha's teachings are included in the stages of the path of the three types of individuals. The three paths spoken by Maitreya and Asanga are also included in the renunciation of the lower and middle individuals. The path of the great individual is included in bodhicitta. The correct view is the common ground that is indispensable for both the Great and Small Vehicles. All the stages of the path of the three types of individuals are included in the essence of the three essential points. Second, explaining the actual treatise that has become a valid authority, there are three parts: the meaning of the introduction, the meaning of the main body, and the meaning of the conclusion. The first part has three: praise, the vow to compose, and the exhortation to listen. First

Oṃ! I prostrate to the venerable Gurus! This shows that the term "Venerable" is a transliteration of the Sanskrit word "Bhaṭṭāra," which means "deliverance," that is, delivering sentient beings who have faith in oneself from the general and specific aspects of saṃsāra and from inferior paths. Or, just as "Svāmi" and "Bandhe" correspond to "lord" and "monk" respectively, it is called "Venerable" because it has become the jewel on the crown of all beings, including gods. Because it is guarded from all misdeeds of body, speech, and mind, it is called "Venerable." The Sanskrit word for "Guru" is "Guru," which has meanings such as heavy, indicating that it is filled with merit and has a heavy kindness towards oneself. According to the Tibetan language, it refers to the meaning of being above or before gods and humans. Such an object, that is, not only the Guru himself, but also the Venerable Mañjuśrī, who is taken by the Guru, as well as the common Madhyamikas, Redawa, Lodrak Great Adept, Chökyab Sangpo, etc., are prostrated to with great reverence of body, speech, and mind. The necessity of doing so is that one's own conduct is in accordance with the conduct of the translators and holy beings of the past, and it also sets a good example for future disciples, and it pacifies the obstacles in the writing of treatises, so that the writing can be completed perfectly, etc. In short, it is for the smooth accomplishment of all temporary and ultimate wishes. The second is to vow to compose a treatise: "The essential meaning of all the Buddha's scriptures, The path praised by the noble Bodhisattvas, The entrance for those with fortune who desire liberation, As much as I can, I will explain." Thus it is said, The essential meaning of all the scriptures of the Buddha Śākyamuni's Great and Small Vehicles, including commentaries, is collected without omission. The Venerable Mañjuśrī, as well as the great chariot masters Nāgārjuna and Asaṅga, and other noble Bodhisattvas, have a subtle and wise intellect for distinguishing between the path and the non-path, and they praise and extol the path. Those fortunate beings who desire to attain liberation and omniscience, this is their only entrance, that is, it becomes the only way to enter the path, which in general has three aspects. That is, the necessary meaning of all the tantras, such as the twelve branches of scripture, is to make sentient beings

It is solely the method for attaining excellent states and ultimate well-being. Among these, the essential meanings needed at the beginning, middle, and end are the thought of renunciation, the mind of enlightenment, and the correct view. I, Lobsang Drakpa, will explain these three aspects to you, the fortunate disciple Ngawang Drakpa, to the best of my ability, with a loving heart, without expecting repayment or fruition. Thirdly, the exhortation to listen: Those who are not attached to the pleasures of samsara, who strive to make their leisure and endowments meaningful, who trust in the path that pleases the Buddhas, those fortunate ones, listen with pure minds. It is said that at that time, the disciple Ngawang Drakpa, who had become an excellent vessel for the teachings, and all fortunate beings, including gods and humans, who saw all the pleasures of samsara as suffering that changes, and therefore were not attached to or infatuated with them, having obtained the precious human body that possesses the eight freedoms and ten endowments for practicing the Dharma, did not let it go to waste, but exerted great effort to make it meaningful. Without paying attention to external or internal paths, or to those who claim to be Buddhists but seek to achieve enlightenment through one-sided skillful means and wisdom, but rather to the path that pleases all the Buddhas of the three times and their retinues, namely renunciation, the mind of enlightenment, and the correct view, which is the teaching that perfects all the essential points of the Dharma, those impartial and wise beings who have the fortune to rely on this with great faith, having abandoned the three faults of the vessel and cultivated the six recollections, listen with great purity of mind. Alternatively, not being attached to the pleasures of samsara is renunciation, making leisure and endowments meaningful is the mind of enlightenment, and the path that pleases the Buddhas is the correct view. It can also be explained as an exhortation to listen to these three. Secondly, the content of the text is divided into three: explaining renunciation, explaining the mind of enlightenment, and explaining the correct view. The first part is divided into three: the reasons for seeking renunciation, the methods for generating renunciation, and the standards for generating renunciation. The first is: Without pure renunciation,
