For all of these, because there is fundamentally no acceptance or rejection of good or bad, I say that it is a realm without differentiation. Thus, although dividing the one separately may appear as six, since they are not other than the single ground of self-arisen wisdom, Dzogchen calls it oneness. Therefore, the present mind has no obscurations from the beginning. Although suchness does not move from the one, the appearances of the five senses are distinctly clear, and the five afflictions distinctly appear as the five wisdoms. This is called the play of wisdom, because it is complete within oneself without searching, so there is no need for hope or fear. In the chapter on wisdom without obscurations, it says: Alas! All-Creating King, my wisdom is non-conceptual, free from all elaborations, its nature is without dust, pure like space, and it is taught as unborn. Although self-arisen wisdom does not move from the one, the distinctions of appearances are clear and unadulterated. Thus, whichever lineage it belongs to, it is prophesied as the son of the All-Creating King. So it is said. Furthermore, without breaking the boundary of self-luminous freedom from elaboration, without diminishing any part, there is no other result than realizing effortless primordial liberation. In the chapter on spontaneous accomplishment without searching, it says: Alas! Because I am spontaneously accomplished without searching, I prophesy to you how to realize it. You will realize all dharmas in that way. Thus, breathing out without effort or practice, All-Creating King, I myself prophesy. So it says. In the chapter on spontaneous accomplishment without hope and fear, it also says: Alas! Because the nature of mind is spontaneously accomplished, I do not prophesy two, accomplishment and non-accomplishment. Do not fixate on two, happiness and suffering. Be free from hope and fear of samsara and nirvana. So it is said. Therefore, the eight vehicles of cause and effect are wanting a Buddha other than the present mind, which is like purifying and transforming this sky, wanting a pure sky other than this present sky from the outside. This is considered to be the essence of the Buddha now, so by meditating on self-luminosity, just as the turbidity of water becomes clear, sudden conceptual thoughts become clear in the state of mind itself. The three kayas blaze spontaneously, and Ati Yoga is the vehicle of self-nature spontaneously accomplished. The method of practicing the subsequent appearances of the three kayas is as it comes from the oral instructions of the noble lama.

Here, the experiences personally undergone are narrated. That is, the view is free from bias and non-grasping; meditation is self-luminous and spontaneously liberated; conduct is effortless and transparent; the fruition is the absence of hope and fear. One should become accustomed to and familiar with these meanings. The deviation of view is that, due to emptiness being nihilistic, one engages in mixing virtue and vice, and lacking compassion, one deviates into the view of the black-mouthed demon. One should pray to the lama, practice pure perception and devotion, cultivate loving-kindness and compassion, and train the mind in karma and impermanence. If one clings to the characteristics of phenomena, and the view remains only at the level of understanding, with inner and outer dharmas appearing as truly existent cognitions, then one deviates into the view of self-grasping characteristics. One should train the mind in the emptiness and transparency of all dharmas. Whatever appears, one should train in seeing it as a dream, without grasping, as an illusion. Then, when appearances arise without recognition, one should meditate clearly and vividly without distraction in that state. If one becomes dull and drowsy, one should project thoughts onto external objects, rely on cool, high places, and diligently practice. The deviation of meditation is that when various thoughts arise, one should train the mind in non-grasping. If even more thoughts arise, one should not keep the mind even slightly inward, but recognize the proliferation. Then, when thoughts no longer arise, one should meditate without distraction in the state of non-thought and equanimity, holding the mind on the appearance of external phenomena. When clarity arises without thought, one should continuously meditate on that. If one becomes stuck in the awareness of bliss, clarity, and non-thought, one should break it, examine one's own nature, and practice the view. Then, appearances will arise in non-grasping. When there is no meditator or object of meditation, no seeking or accomplishment, one should continuously practice on that very mind, and train in clarity, emptiness, and non-thought, in the state of emptiness of self-nature. For this, it is important to first gain firm confidence in any object of focus. All inner and outer dharmas are of one equal taste. The mind arises from the place of abiding, and the place of arising is the place of abiding. The appearance of abiding and arising being inseparable is the familiarity of small, medium, and large degrees. Then, the experience of not clinging to the truth of present appearances will arise. At this time, one feels relaxed about appearances, speech is uncertain, and dreams are only virtuous. Then, appearances become vague, speech becomes unrelated, and one remembers dreams, dreaming of what one does during the day. Then, appearances become clearer, speech is uncertain, and dreams are
