Sixth. The practice is: abiding in the twelve qualities of practice, acting primarily for one's own benefit. The fruit is: the noble path that progresses through the five paths and thirty-seven factors of enlightenment is the four fruits of a Shramana, namely: Stream-enterer, Once-returner, Non-returner, and Arhat, which are the four pairs and eight types of individuals. Each fruit is further divided into two, entering and abiding, so it is considered to be eight. Among them, everything that a Shravaka realizes must also be realized here. However, what is attained is a deviation from the Mahayana path, so it is not necessary to manifest it on the path stage. Second, taking the path of the gods: inviting the Bhagavan Shakyamuni Buddha, together with the noble Shravaka Sangha, to the front. Visualizing from the state of abiding, accumulating merit through offerings and so on. Third, taking the essence path: contemplating that the light emanating from the bodies of the gods purifies the faults of body and mind, and blesses the continuum. Reciting the Muni Dharani. Fourth, taking the path of precepts: abandoning the ten non-virtuous actions like enemies, and relying on the ten virtuous actions like the supreme medicine that revives the dead. Among them, there are ten common perceptions: for killing, have the perception of poison; for afflictions, have the perception of poisonous snakes; for food, have the perception of an old couple eating the flesh of their son; for clothing, have the perception of a shroud; for gain and respect, have the perception of a net and trap; for the guru and the Three Jewels, have the perception of precious jewels; for the Dharma, have the perception of a good path; for the Buddha's teachings, have the perception of gold; for morality, have the perception of ornaments; for the realization of the nature of reality, have the perception of lighting a lamp in a dark cave. One should learn these. Second, regarding the guidance on the practice of settling the mind in its natural state: first, shamatha: with the renunciation of this life and samsara, abandoning the busyness and non-virtuous mind. The nature of what is to be meditated on is: visualize a bone point on your forehead, about the size of a mustard seed. Focus your mind on it and abide in it. As the point gradually increases in size, all appearances become a stark white skeleton, focus on this single-pointedly. Then, through the practice of gathering in, visualize your own body also becoming a skeleton.

Having contemplated, meditate. As the Treasury of Knowledge says, "For all collections of bones, even to the sea of bones, first expanding and then contracting is the first (practice)." Therefore, this is the method of meditating on ugliness for a beginner. Relying on this, as before, when expanding and then contracting, from abandoning the foot bones to halfway up the shinbone, and when it is very stable, even contracting to half the skull, and focusing the mind between the two eyebrows. As it is said, "From the foot bones to half the skull, purification is said to be done by abandoning. By focusing the mind between the eyebrows, one perfects the mind." Thus it is said. In this way, through the samadhi of ugliness, attachment and aversion cease, and the mind becomes workable. Then cultivate insight. Although in the five paths, one cultivates the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment or the sixteen aspects of truth from the outside in. But here, only a glimpse of the view of meditating on the selflessness of the person on the steps of the higher path will be shown. That is, clinging to these five aggregates of one's own body as self, ego-grasping arises. To refute it, one should meditate like this: If one focuses on the object that is nominally designated as "I," then the so-called "I" does not exist. The body is broken down into particles, and the mind is also broken down into moments. Therefore, neither body nor mind is "I," and the collection of the two is not established, therefore it is not "I." Since there is no separation from the two, when one realizes the absence of a person, one should remain in that state. Having thus ascertained and meditated, since the grasping of "I" or self is reversed, the grasping of "mine" or self-possession will not arise. Thus, since the grasping of self and self-possession, the root of all faults, is reversed, afflictions cease. Since that is reversed, karma is exhausted. Since karma and afflictions are exhausted, birth is exhausted, therefore liberation will be attained. As the Madhyamaka says, "From the exhaustion of karma and afflictions, there is liberation." Therefore, one should diligently study. Third, the instructions of the Hearer Vehicle are divided into two: general and specific. First, in the beginning of the four ways of carrying the path, carrying the vehicle into the path. The method of entering is: entering through the gate of the twelve links of dependent origination. The relationship of cause and condition, there are six between seed and fruit. The relationship of conditions, the five elements and the changes of time are six, which are the external twelve links of dependent origination, broad
