That is to say, for the sake of the accumulation of merit, performing actions that benefit sentient beings, the resulting fruit is the attainment of the Form Body; for the sake of the accumulation of wisdom, meditating on non-conceptual samadhi, the resulting fruit is the attainment of the Dharma Body, which is free from defilements. As it is said in the Ratnavali: "The Form Body of the Buddhas arises from the accumulation of merit; the Dharma Body, in brief, arises from the accumulation of wisdom of the Victorious Ones." As it is said. Secondly, in the Great Akanishta, from the support of the Enjoyment Body, the Dharma Body is manifested, and in the three thousand worlds, the Emanation Body instantaneously shows the manner of attaining enlightenment. The two benefits are perfected, and the two bodies are the support and the supported. In terms of meaning, the non-existent does not appear, and the existent appears. Because of appearance, one enjoys according to one's wishes, hence it is liberation. Where does that Buddha attain enlightenment? In the Great Akanishta, which is beyond the three realms, on the support of the Enjoyment Body, the Dharma Body is manifested, and in the three thousand worlds, in hundreds of millions of four continents, the Emanation Body instantaneously shows the manner of attaining enlightenment. As it is said in the Lankavatara Sutra: "Having abandoned the pure abodes, in the delightful abode of Akanishta, the Perfectly Awakened One becomes enlightened there, and one Emanation Body becomes enlightened here." Thus it is. The establishment of the Three Bodies is also a definite number based on the need. The two Form Bodies are the perfection of self and other benefits, and the Dharma Body is their support. As Maitreya said: "These Three Bodies show the benefit of self and others, this is shown together with the support." Thus it is said. Also, in other places, the Dharma Body is the ultimate truth of self-benefit, and the two Form Bodies are both the conventional truth of other-benefit. The latter appears as the Enjoyment Body to pure disciples, and as the Emanation Body to impure disciples. The former is the support of the latter two, and the two are the support and the supported in order. In terms of meaning, the non-existent is not apparent because it is free from all sudden stains and obscurations, and the existent is the constant and unchanging Dharmadhatu, all of which is manifestly apparent, so one enjoys the uncontaminated wealth as one wishes. As it is said in the Ornament of the Sutras: "The meaningless and the meaningful, the non-apparent and the apparent, are said to be."
