This first one, from the secret name of the past, is still known today by the name of Self-Arisen Vajra. I have explained this for the sake of those intelligent ones who wish to know the meaning of the unsurpassed tantra and its commentaries without reversing the meaning. The word "complete" means that it is completely and thoroughly complete without any omissions. Second, from "those who boast of being wise" to "is taught." It is said that most of those who boast of being wise based solely on listening, and all the yogis who have cultivated only a little experience from single-mindedly meditating, and who have only a little clairvoyance, and who think they understand, also rely on the explanations in this text to find that they have only understood a little of the profound meaning, and have not understood it as it is. Therefore, in order for all teachers and meditators to understand the profound points without reversing them, the profound points of the tantra commentaries in this text, all the important ones, have been collected and taught. Therefore, please believe. Third, from "secluded place" to "become an ornament." It is said that this root text was written in the secluded place blessed by Chakrasamvara, the Great Bliss Island of Tsurphu (མཚུར་ཕུ།, Tsurphu Monastery in Doilungdêqên District, Lhasa, Tibet today), in the seventh month of the Water Male Dog year. The cause of writing this text, from beginning to end, is filled with the splendor of auspiciousness, may this text become the supreme ornament that temporarily and permanently adorns the teachings and the holders of the teachings in the excellent realm where the Buddha appeared, this world called Jambudvipa (ཛམྦུ, Sanskrit Jambūdvīpa) through the three doors of listening, thinking, and meditating! With this auspicious wish, the writing is completed. Thus, for this extraordinary general commentary on the Vajrayana, the main sources are the self-commentary, and the words of Karma Könchok (ཀ་རྨ་དཀོན་མཆོག), the words of Tsurphu Jamyang Chenpo (མཚུར་ཕུ་འཇམ་དབྱངས་ཆེན་པོ།) recorded by Sochen Sonam Gyatso (སོ་ཆེན་བསོད་ནམས་རྒྱ་མཚོ།), and the explanations given by him, the explanations given by the wisdom body of the Self-Arisen Feet of the great accomplished master Sokwön Rigpai Raldri (སོག་དབོན་རིག་པའི་རལ་གྲི།), the first Karma Trinlepa (ཀ་རྨ་ཕྲིན་ལས་པ།), the excellent one who has attained the path of joining, Dakpo Panchen the Third Chökyi Namgyal (དྭགས་པོ་པཎ་ཆེན་གསུམ་པ་ཕྱོགས་ལས་རྣམ་རྒྱལ།), Dakpo Rampa Khen (189) Drubchen Chögyal Tenpa (གྲུབ་ཆེན་ཆོས་རྒྱལ་བསྟན་པ།), Ngötro Rabjampa Drubchen Wangchuk Pelsang (ངོ་ཁྲོ་རབ་འབྱམས་པ་གྲུབ་ཆེན་དབང་ཕྱུག་དཔལ་བཟང་།), Shamar Lhapa Gyalwa Könchok (ཞྭ་དམར་ལྡ་པ་རྒྱལ་བ་དཀོན་མཆོ

The extensive and concise commentaries composed by Ga Yan branch and others, as well as the manuscripts recorded by Lochen Tsewang Kunkhyab from the words of Omniscient Dharma Source, and the annotations of Khenchen Lhalungpa Karma Tenphel and other extensive and concise commentaries of various kinds are present. Among other commentaries, the Eighth Karmapa is famous for highly praising Dakpo Rampa's commentary, and as a representative of this, I have read and contemplated all the documents of the aforementioned commentaries. Primarily, I have extracted the essence of the words of Tsurpu Great Achiever and the excellent explanations of Je Trinley Zhab, as I see that both of these are particularly outstanding in terms of words and meaning. The teachings of the peerless supreme teacher, like the two supreme chariots of the noble land of India. The knot of the hundred deities of the self-born Vajradhara, the wise and accomplished ones touch the glory of near power. All of his scriptures, even a single word has infinite ways of understanding, therefore, explanations of how to measure with discriminating mind, extensive and concise collections of texts have appeared continuously. The root Vajra speech is profound and firm, although some seem to have understood it by hearing it, but only a few can integrate the great chariots of Sutra and Tantra into one, and realize the secret key of union. Hearing only one side, they explain and expound only one side, and there are many different views and opinions on the same root, attributing the Buddha's words to the source of their own mistakes, and scholars in the degenerate age are mostly deceived. Intelligence is dull, and the power of learning is also weak, not understanding this, like a poisonous snake in the dark, one should not explain the profound words and meanings, but always pursues the superior intention. In this way, I have the lineage, studied a little, and the eye of wisdom that understands one side has not closed, and I can also spread various different sayings, but I cherish the good words of the supreme former masters, so I repeat them. Words are flooded like a flood, obscuring the profound meaning, because there are restrictions in the Tantras and Mind Commentaries, so following the wise and accomplished ones with Dharma eyes, this following is stable both temporarily and in the long run. May the three roots and Dharma protectors, with the stream of well-spoken words washing away the dirt of childish wisdom, (190) tolerate and accept, may this and all unobstructed connections be nourished by the light of the two wisdoms.
