Sa! Abides in ease without effort. ( इति ) Thus. The wisdom of self-arising mind-essence, the basis of samsara and nirvana, this is shown as the place of prostration. As the Dohakosha says: Mind-essence alone is the seed of all, From which existence and sorrow arise, Bestowing the fruit of desire, I prostrate to the mind like a wish-fulfilling jewel. Thus it is. The vow to compose is: All dharmas are the realm of inexpressible nature, The supreme view is the Great Perfection, Different from anything, the meaning beyond all, As I have realized, I will explain, listen! Therein, the nature of reality is the realm beyond thought and expression, which is the Great Perfection of Rigpa Bodhicitta, without substance or characteristics, it is beyond the realm of exemplification. By the grace of the holy guru, the meaning of perfect realization will be explained for the benefit of future generations, as promised. The mind-essence beyond cause and effect and effort is not realized by the lower vehicles, and is shown here, so it is purified without abandoning faults and obscurations and without abiding. It is taught that all dharmas are realized as mere names, as the Great Teacher Garab Dorje said in the Three Kayas Meeting: In the great realm of birth and death, without end and free from action, Like a golden island, a realm without distinction, Without inside or outside, there is no east setting in the west, The root of dispelling the darkness of the edges is Bodhicitta. Although the four extremes are not abandoned in Bodhicitta, The four extremes do not touch it, and the place of error is naturally cut off. In the nature of Bodhicitta without precipices, Although the three kayas are spontaneously perfect without effort, Samsara and nirvana are mere names, and cause and effect are observed differently. Thus it is said. Starting the abode with words that show these meanings, thinking of the benefit of liberating those with great faculties as they are, as promised, it will not change, so the meaning of completing the composition is shown. As the Great Commentary on the Eight Thousand Verses says: Those who are loving for the sake of others, Even for the sake of life, do not relax their abilities, Great beings carry burdens, And never abandon them in times of distress. Thus it is said. This also indicates the four branches of need and explanation. The Rigpa Bodhicitta beyond thought, expression, cause and effect is the subject of this treatise. By teaching it, those with great faculties realize it as

is necessary. To practice what has been realized, arriving at the state of being inherently pure, is the necessity of necessities, the ultimate necessity. These are mutually dependent, which is the connection. Therefore, everything appears within awareness, and realizing that awareness transcends cause and effect, action and effort, it is superior to all lower vehicles. In the Kunjed Gyalpo (All-Creating King), it says: "All-Creating King, Bodhicitta, I, if you realize this nature of mine, all phenomena that appear, declare them to be nothing other than me. If you declare this prophecy of mine, all the retinues gathered around you, will realize the nature of the All-Creating I, and all will transform into my nature. When all have transformed into my nature, for all phenomena that appear, all will not abandon, obstruct, or purify the two truths. They will not bless the three with cleanliness, they will not meditate, generate bodhicitta, exert effort, or practice. Since everything is accomplished in the state of the All-Creating, everything is equal to the All-Creating I. The equal I does not need to make equal, it is not necessary to make equal, this was prophesied before." Thus it is. Likewise, the necessity of realization is also mentioned therein: "Declaring the necessity, the purpose of the necessity, from countless eons ago, those extremely yogis who have faith in the All-Creating Bodhi I, who have karma and fortune, without view and meditation, without needing to guard vows, activity without effort, without needing to walk the path, without practice on the ground, without cause and effect, without the two, ultimate and conventional, seeing without meditation and practice, seeing without generating bodhicitta and antidote, seeing the nature of the All-Creating mind, this is declaring such a necessity." Thus it is said. The first aspect of these, the cause for entering into writing treatises, has been explained. Now, from the treatise extensively explaining itself, the body is briefly explained by the four vajra bonds: The ultimate meaning of the heart essence of mind sphere instructions, non-existence, pervasiveness, spontaneously accomplished, and oneness, each is bound by key point liberation, obstruction, and bond, existing in four meanings and four forms. Among these, the ultimate meaning of the Great Perfection of inherent nature, all phenomena
