Explanation of the terms: It is called the Mantra Vehicle, the Vajra Vehicle, and the Result Vehicle. Because afflictions and other things to be abandoned are purified in their place, and it is highly praised as a means to attain what is to be accomplished, it is called Mantra. In the Supreme Knowledge, it says: "Because of the perfect union with the empowerment obtained, it is called Mantra because it is highly praised." There are three divisions. In the Realization of Intention Tantra, it says: "The divisions of all mantras should be known as three types: the family mantra is the nature of method, the dharani mantra is the nature of wisdom, and the secret mantra is non-dual wisdom." The Vajra Vehicle is the great method of uniting with the meaning of the Vajra of Body, Speech, and Mind, and it arises without moving from the sphere. In the Guhyasamaja Tantra, it says: "Great desire, hatred, and delusion are well shown in the Vajra Vehicle." It also says: "Desire, hatred, and delusion are pleased with the Vajra and abide in purity. Therefore, it is the method of all Buddhas, and it is said to be the Vajra Vehicle." Secondly, there are three divisions of secret mantra: the actual division, the reason for determining four, and the enumeration of their respective terms. First, on top of the purity of the nature of the sphere, the three bases, paths, and results to be expressed are divided according to the nature of the tantra that teaches them. If divided by the terms of expression, they are the Action Tantra, the Performance Tantra, the Yoga Tantra, and the Unsurpassed Yoga Tantra, which are included in the four tantra classes. As it says in the Vajra Heart Ornament Tantra: "The tantra intended by the Sugata is also truly taught as four types: Action, Performance, Yoga, and Unsurpassed." Among these, the first, the Action Tantra, is called Kriyātantra (藏文,ཀྲཱི་ཡ་ཏནྟྲ་,梵文天城体,क्रियातन्त्र,梵文罗马拟音,kriyātantra,汉语字面意思,事续), because it mainly teaches the actions of body and speech. In the Commentary on the Later Contemplation Tantra, it says: "This tantra generally mainly teaches the actions of body and speech, therefore it is called the Action Tantra." Also, in the Susiddhikara, it says: "When entering into action, this body should be smeared and wiped with earth, and after entering into the clear great water, it should be washed as desired." That is to say, the actions of the body include the three great baths and the subtle bath, changing the three garments, eating the three foods, fasting, cleanliness and asceticism, and the different postures of sitting, such as the full lotus posture and prostration.

Through means such as binding, with the activity of speech primarily focused on recitation, and with the mind viewing oneself as a servant and the deity as the lord, one accomplishes the Kriya Tantra. As stated in Pungzang: "Having eaten at the proper time and bathed at the proper time, with garlands, flowers, lamps, incense, and fragrances, having offered divine food without meat or alcohol, sit on a Kusha seat and begin the recitation." It also says: "For the sake of achieving the bliss of meditation, the Tathagata subsequently taught fasting." And as stated in the Five Gradual Stages: "The purity of body and speech, the third is the purity of mind, the fourth is speaking truthfully, and the fifth is described as external purity." Secondly, the Charya Tantra, known as Upa-tantra, involves engaging in the activities of body and speech in equal measure, and with the mind, one cultivates oneself and the deity as friends. As stated in the Condensed Meaning of Manifest Enlightenment of Vairocana: "This tantra is called Charya Tantra because it engages in practices that contradict worldly customs by disparaging cleanliness and so forth." That is to say, the activities of body and speech are diverse, while the cultivation of the mind is carried out equally. Thirdly, the Yoga Tantra, known as Yoga-tantra, does not primarily emphasize the activities of body and speech, but primarily emphasizes the activities of the mind. Lopon Kunga Nyingpo said: "In this Yoga Tantra, meditation is primarily emphasized, therefore it teaches recitation as one pleases." And as stated in the Condensed Meaning of Making Thatness Appear: "In this tantra, the cultivation of samadhi is primarily emphasized, therefore it is called Yoga Tantra." That is to say, one meditates equally by visualizing oneself as the Samaya being, with the Jnana being residing within. Fourthly, the Maha Yoga Tantra, known as Mahāyoga-tantra, primarily emphasizes the activity of the mind, which is great wisdom. Since there is no acceptance or rejection, the activities of body and speech are also practiced with the five desires as a means. As stated in the Guhyasamaja: "Even if one practices with unbearable ascetic vows, one will not achieve accomplishment; by relying on all the qualities of desire, one will attain accomplishment." And as stated in the Chakrasamvara: "Therefore, one should achieve bliss through bliss itself; supreme bliss." And as stated by Aryadeva: "To attain the fruit of great bliss, there is no other method than the method of great bliss. For that purpose,
