The Differentiation Chapter: As it is said in the "Definitive Explanation": "The light of a jewel lamp, Manifestly runs with the wisdom of a jewel, Although there is no difference from wrong knowledge, There is a difference in how it accomplishes meaning." Thus it is. Thus, it is superior with seven great differences and countless subtle points, as it is said in the Madhyamaka: "The essence of the direct perception of reality, Also realizes that there is no good or bad in actions. Because the heart essence Is definitely gathered, The senses have no sharpness or dullness. Because the mind's thoughts and words are exhausted, It is seen by the senses, not by wisdom. Because words do not see reality, The common vehicle does not accomplish the goal. Because the three bodies are the appearance of the path, Seeing this is not the reversal of the three realms. Because all phenomena are equally of one taste, The basis and the result are not dependent on each other." Thus it is. Second, explaining the special path itself, there are two: establishing the empowerment that ripens the unripe, and establishing the instructions that liberate the ripened. The first is the empowerment and its companion, the vows. Although it has been explained in detail before, it is summarized here because it is very relevant. The person who relies on it, turning away from samsara and not clinging to this world, wishing to obtain the meaning of the Dharma all at once, should first fully receive the empowerment from a qualified lama. Among them, first, relying on the outer elaborate empowerment mandala and vase, by empowering the body, one obtains the power of the body as the deity of the yidam, so the outer vessel appears as a palace, and the inner body appears as the great mudra of the deity. This is the key instruction for a yogi to be liberated from the gross bonds of the body. Then, relying on the inner non-elaborate empowerment mandala and vase, by empowering speech, speech appears as the recitation of the deity, and the experience of the inexpressible meaning arises within, which arises from the utterance of the letter A. Then, the secret, extremely non-elaborate empowerment, relying on symbols and interdependence, by empowering the mind, the mind abides on the nature of reality, and experiences the meaning of the great clear light of the mind. Then, the unsurpassed secret, relying on the posture and gaze of the body, by empowering the three doors of body, speech, and mind, the body abides.

Depending on the key points of the earth's posture, one is liberated into the abiding state of the three bodies. Depending on the cessation of speech, the power of sound diminishes, and one comprehends the meaning that cannot be expressed. Depending on the key point of stimulating blessings of the mind through symbols, luminous emptiness does not establish any essence. This is the intention of the path of mantra maturing. Thus, with the perfection of the body's maturation, the generation stage becomes clear all at once. With the perfection of the speech's maturation, uncommon powers arise. With the perfection of the mind's maturation, the completion stage reaches the level of signs and measures. With the perfection of the maturation of body, speech, mind, and heart, the path of experiencing the nature of reality directly is manifestly perfected. Secondly, its companion is the sequence of vows. Thus, relying on the tantra of vows through the basis of perfect maturation: In general, the root of vows is the lama. Therefore, desiring the accomplishment of meaning, accomplishment arises from pleasing the lama. From the Tantra of the Net of a Thousand Dakinis: 'Desiring accomplishment, to the lama, until the end of time, one should make offerings.' Also, it does not go beyond the three doors of body, speech, and mind. Pleasing the lama through the conduct of the body, such as spreading cushions, offering mandalas, massaging the body, wiping away dust, gazing respectfully, and prostrating. Among these, gazing respectfully is prostrating when the lama looks at oneself. Seeing respectfully is prostrating when one sees the lama. Pleasing the lama through the expression of speech: not focusing on the lama's faults, but focusing on qualities, one should express special words. Pleasing the lama through understanding the yidam: by relying on the lama's activities, the lama is pleased and intends to bring others in, and in any way, one causes others to enter with faith in the lama. Being skilled in the lama's words, one is able to speak to others without adding or subtracting words, and one does not deviate from practicing exactly as the lama intends in his heart. In the Tantra of Great Vows, it says: 'How the lama's activities, with body, speech, and mind, a person who reveres the supreme lama, becomes a Vajra Holder.' And also: 'A faithful one desiring accomplishment, arises from pleasing the lama. If the lama is not pleased, one constantly wanders through the edge of samsara.'
