The difference lies in the fact that a dewdrop, if it does not encounter the cause of its own nature, is like not being awakened, but once it encounters the cause of the sun, it is like being awakened. As it says in "Self-Arisen": The analogy of awakening and non-awakening is like a dewdrop, with the difference of whether or not the light overwhelms it. Ninth, wisdom and habit are similar in the power of awareness, but there is a difference in what is abandoned and what is embraced. As it says in the same text: The analogy of wisdom and habit is like a flint and fire, for burning away afflictions. Tenth, the analogy of awareness entering the appearance of wisdom is that awareness is not the same, and wisdom is like a child dissolving into the ground and being liberated. As it says in the same text: The analogy of awareness entering the appearance of wisdom is like a child entering its mother's lap. For the sake of faith. Eleventh, awareness is one in essence, but from the ground and from the slight difference of arising from the ground, it is divided into wisdom and light. As it says in the same text: The analogy of wisdom and light is like gold and yellow. In order not to distinguish name and color. Twelfth, awareness is one, but the instruction to be applied is like wine, and the effect is like being drunk. As it says in the same text: The analogy of instruction and effect is like wine and dregs. In order to enter into awareness. Thirteenth, the way in which outwardly clear wisdom dissolves into inwardly clear light is like the light of crystal dissolving into the interior, or like a rainbow disappearing into space, without distinction. As it says in the same text: The analogy of wisdom dissolving into light is like the sky and a rainbow. Because there is no object. Fourteenth, in the ocean of the dharmadhatu, when wisdom dissolves like a drop of water, the state of self-nature without difference is. As it says in the same text: The analogy of wisdom dissolving into the dharmadhatu is like a drop of water merging into the ocean. Because there is no duality. Fifteenth, not returning after dissolving into the dharmadhatu is. As it says in the same text: The analogy of awareness not returning is like a great arrow. Because there is no obstruction. Second, to distinguish the determination of meaning in detail, there are sixteen similarities. First, non-conceptual mind and non-conceptual awareness are similar in being non-conceptual, but awareness is transparent, while mind has the difference of being turbid and swirling. Second, awareness is clear and does not appear to the object, while the mind abides in its own nature, and the state of turbidity is the same in abiding in its own nature, but awareness is clear and without an object, while the mind is

There is a difference in being bound by tangible things. Third, the meditation of rigpa abiding in its own state and the practice of regulating the channels and winds are similar in that the mind focuses on one point, but the self-originated meditation, which is accompanied by moisture, is always present. The meditation on channels and winds, however, has more dullness and agitation, and exists in the condition of effort, which is the difference between them. Fourth, the appearance of rigpa self-arising in the field and the wandering of discursive thoughts are similar in that they scatter in the field, but rigpa arises suddenly and is liberated into non-grasping, while discursive thoughts cling to the grasped and the grasper, and follow after the field, which is the difference between them. Fifth, the bardo of dharmata and the illusory body of the yidam deity are similar in that they merely appear as deity forms, but there is a difference in liberation and non-liberation depending on the extent of the appearance and whether one recognizes it as self-appearance. The bardo of dharmata is the appearance of the radiance of rigpa, while the illusory body of the deity is the result of familiarizing oneself with discursive thoughts. Sixth, the field appearance of the self-existing nirmanakaya and the teaching of manifesting a pure field after attaining Buddhahood from below are similar in that they both involve the pure field of the sambhogakaya's appearance, but the self-existing nirmanakaya arises from the door of self-appearance and spontaneous accomplishment, while the field of ascending from below is an appearance that corresponds to the illusion of delusion, and in reality, there is a difference between self-appearance and other-appearance. Seventh, the ultimate place of liberation, primordial purity (ཀ་དག་,Ka dag), and spontaneous accomplishment of the ground of indeterminacy are similar in the qualities of rigpa, such as essence, nature, and compassion, but there is a difference in whether they have defilements and whether they serve as the basis for delusion. It is very important for our own school to understand these differences, so do not speak crudely, saying, "The fruit is liberated on the ground." Eighth, the view and meditation of the lower mind's conceptualization and the view and meditation of the direct experience of rigpa are similar in name, but there is a great difference in whether they appear to the senses and rigpa. Ninth, the body of rigpa and the deity body of discursive thought are similar in that they merely see the deity, but there is a difference in size, permanence and impermanence, and whether or not it is necessary to familiarize oneself with discursive thoughts. Tenth, the field of appearance of rigpa, self-arising, and the appearance of various delusions are similar in that these impure things merely appear, but yogis see them as naturally appearing without reality, like the moon in water and dreams, so they are not bound, while ordinary people are bound, which is the difference between them. Eleventh, the bindu of the clear light of primordial awareness (ཐིག་ལེ་,thig le,bindu,明点) and the wind-mind.
