It is called "Ra." Because the jewel that has been there from the beginning is found, it is called "Self." Because it arises spontaneously and unhindered, it is called "Arising." Because all dharmas are clearly known, it is called "Lamp." Because awareness pervades and knows one's own appearance, it is called "Mother." Also, in that very text, it says: "With wisdom, having fully entered all appearances of existence and non-existence, knowing the general meanings, finding confidence without searching, knowing the measures of one's own primordial wisdom, the Dharmakaya of pure essence, not found by anyone, through self-awareness, appears supremely excellent from all. Because there is no place for others to examine, it is the self-arisen, primordially pure Mother. Not the realm of others, it is called 'Self.' This meaning is not found through actions. Because there is no reliance on anyone, it is called 'Arising' from the beginning. The Lamp-Mother makes all dharmata appear as non-dual. The Mother is so because she pervades her own essence." It is said. In the Garland of Pearls, it says: "Like a burning lamp, with wisdom, one realizes all dharmas at once. Supreme becomes the summit of all. Self is separate from dharmas dependent on others. Arising appears freely without obstruction." It is said. Third, if divided, there are five. The wisdom of the basis-abiding self-arisen is: the knowing aspect of inner-abiding awareness, which abides as the basis and support. The wisdom of directly grasping appearances is: the self-occurring, self-illuminating, stainless purity of the union of space and awareness, which causes realization to be transferred into dharmata. The wisdom of unceasing memory is: although appearing limitlessly, liberation gathers one's own essence into the single nature of dharmata. The wisdom of individual discrimination is: knowing how dharmas and entities, self and general characteristics, and defining characteristics, etc., appear without being mixed. The three entering wisdoms are: in this bardo of intrinsic nature, one establishes certainty through hearing, one ascertains through thinking, and one definitely extracts from samsara through experiencing the taste through meditation, that is, understanding the meaning of words. Again, in that very text, it says: "The divisions are of five kinds: with the wisdom of the basis-abiding self-arisen, one makes the supports of the dharmas such as the body. With the wisdom of directly grasping appearances, one holds the meeting place of space and awareness. With the wisdom of unceasing memory, one gathers the objects of single-pointed awareness. With the wisdom of individual discrimination, one distinguishes general and specific characteristics. With the three entering wisdoms, the intrinsic nature"

Settling in the Bardo. Thus it is. Fourth, the characteristic is: Knowing that the phenomena encompassed by the appearance of objects and the phenomena encompassed by the awareness of the subject are without inherent existence is its characteristic. As it says in that very text: All phenomena, appearing and not appearing, whoever knows them to be without inherent existence, this is its characteristic. Thus it says. To summarize: Those who fully know that all phenomena are without inherent existence are said to have the supreme Prajnaparamita. Thus it is said. Fifth, the door of arising is: The five senses, that is, the sense consciousness measuring objects, is wisdom, and it is its door. In particular, remembering from the nose is the horse of wisdom, because the fire-wind element moves. The fire-wind is the radiance of wisdom, like a spark, known to arise at night when one is drowsy. Again, that very text says: The door of arising is the five senses, especially arising from the nose. Its sign is at night, with severe coughing and sneezing, and when coughing is very severe, a red, radiant light scatters like a spark. By its measure and its sign, recognize the door of arising. Thus it is said. Sixth, the place is: In the mind, in the four great and special channels, the innate radiance of awareness is held by the wind and does not radiate outward, remaining only unmanifest in its own place within. By the karmic wind moving outward in the channels, the awareness of objects arises. It also abides in the innate radiance of the assembled basis of names, that is, it abides in the innate radiance of the four elements, consciousness, wisdom, primordial awareness, and awareness. As that very text says: From the four channels of arising, in the nature of flowing, moving, flickering, and sparks rising upward, the five wisdoms, together with the karmic wind, from the four channels, awareness is clear and distinct, in the nature of wisdoms, the Roma and Kyangma all tremble, in the empty space of the crystal tube, clarity dwells as great wisdom. In the innate radiance of the assembled basis of names, in the nature of distinguishing all, it naturally abides in the parts of the body. Sometimes, when the wind holds itself, awareness is also in unconsciousness and dullness, the powers of wisdom are vast and enveloping, without a part of clarity, it becomes dull. When one's own power of wisdom is activated, even phenomena not previously heard are remembered in the mind and appear clearly. The powers of clarity and non-clarity are merely the movement and vibration of the wind
