Pana. The root is the five life-sustaining winds, and from that arises the basis for the appearance of the five bodies, five speeches, five minds, five qualities, five activities, five wisdoms, and five lights, etc. It is the place of origin, the object of reliance, the existence that transcends non-existence, clear inwardly without being outwardly existent, subtle and difficult to examine. It abides in the great expanse where the body of the ground appearance arises, the basis for the appearance of the path appearance, and the realm for the appearance of the fruition appearance, where the form body and awareness arise. From Self-Arisen it says: That realm is also without limit, not falling into any direction, without decrease, without increase, without emptiness, without fullness, possessing clarity, the place where many bodies arise, the nature of all that is vast. Also, from the Sixth Expanse it says: In the appearance of self-nature itself, there is no grasping at characteristics; it is not color, but self-luminous, merely aspects of knowing and awareness. Since there is no object to be grasped, there is no grasping aspect of conceptualization. In the primordial radiance beyond light, it abides pervasively from the very beginning. In the self-radiance beyond the body, it abides as the perfectly pure great seal. However, in the appearance of self-nature, there is no perception of characteristics. In terms of meaning, it abides as follows: The white aspect that generates self-radiance abides in the great depth of clarity. The essence of deep clarity generates radiance, the yellow aspect of self-exhausting appearance, from the invisible depths, its own nature is clear. Its own nature, unattached, generates radiance, the red aspect of self-exhausting attachment, freed from its own bonds, abides in the great depth of unmixed radiance. Holding the unmixed, separate aspects, the green aspect of effortless movement, free from action, also in the rays of the first ones, the aspect clear from the invisible depths, the deep clarity pervades without connection, in the unchanging, complete dark blue, it abides primordially complete without effort. Thus, in its self-nature, the body is appearance devoid of characteristics, in the great purity that is primordially pure, it abides at the peak of all perfections. Here there is no appearance as a sense power, because coarse characteristics are self-purified, it abides as the basis of great deep clarity. Empty of pervasion and pervasiveness itself, in the appearance that is uninterrupted from the root, the aspect of illuminating appearance does not cease. The essence of all hearts, the quintessence gathered, without stain and pure in itself, in the great secret of the Buddhas, it abides in the aspect of self-nature. Thus it is said.

And, from the previous, the appearance of self-existing spontaneous accomplishment, the intention of the precious amulet box, is clear in the appearance of the inner wisdom jewel, without external distraction, called the abiding mode of the youthful vase body, thus it is said. The third is to summarize the meaning: the essence is pure from the beginning, without things and characteristics, the self-existing spontaneous accomplishment, abiding in the intention of body and wisdom inseparable, these two are the same essence, therefore appearance and emptiness are not separate. Its abiding mode, the essence of emptiness is unchanging, is the nature of the body, the three bodies are inseparable, like the disc of the sun, although clear inside, but not formed into things and characteristics, the nature of the original radiance is clear as light, but the external appearance is not colored and patterned, great compassion abides in the wisdom of awareness, but does not distinguish external objects, that is, the essence, nature, and great compassion abide in it. It is also said, in Self-Arising it says: Before I existed, the ground abided like this, called the Great Original Purity, essence, nature, and compassion abide in three ways. That essence, the unchanging wisdom is clear without ceasing, is called the abiding mode of the youthful vase body. The appearance of the five lights of nature does not cease. The appearance of great compassion is like the sky without clouds, and in Refutation it says: In the wisdom of the essence of original purity, there is no worldly name called ignorance, there is no number of one and two. After observation, there is no establishment of existence and non-existence. In the nature of the undivided Dharma, there is not even the establishment of mere wisdom. There are no words, no establishment of expression. Not abiding at the edge, self-knowing and self-aware. The end of expressive clinging to names is exhausted. Without cause, without countless conditions, there is no duality, no object and subject. Not divided in any characteristic. The coarse subject is exhausted. From the beginning, it is without and pure, because the confusion of discrimination has stopped, so nothing is done. Because it is not born, it is cessation and emptiness. The self-existing spontaneous accomplishment wisdom, is unborn and unceasing, does not contemplate anything. Because there is no object and certainty. Because the ability and merit do not cease. Merely appearing in play, it is the basis for perfecting all kinds. Because it is without, therefore it appears, because it appears, therefore it is emptiness. Possessing the limbs of appearance and emptiness merging. Buddhas and sentient beings are all objects. Thus the ground manifestly abides. Merely abiding in nature. Observing from the aspect of essence
