Eighth Level: Explaining the Nature of the Primordial Ground. Eighth Level: Explaining the Nature of the Primordial Ground. Having extensively explained the king of empowerments and samayas, now it is time to ascertain the essence of the nature of meaning. First, regarding the ground, the essence of the spontaneously pure expanse, the ultimate truth, the secret mantra vajra place, the nature of the spontaneously accomplished mandala, there are two aspects: generally explaining the nature of the seven grounds, and specifically explaining the unsurpassed ground. The first has three parts: briefly explaining the nature of the seven grounds, showing the seven grounds of clinging as flawed, and establishing the ground of primordial purity and spontaneous accomplishment as inseparable in our own system. First, in general, the Great Perfection tradition explains seven views on the ground, which are held by various proponents of philosophical tenets. These are: the ground is considered primordially pure, the ground is considered spontaneously accomplished, the ground is considered indefinite, the ground is considered the definite actual entity of meaning, the ground is considered transformable into anything, the ground is considered acceptable as anything, and the ground is considered diverse, these are the seven. These are also individually acknowledged by attributing them to one aspect of the essence of primordial purity. For this self-arisen wisdom, there is no affirmation or negation. From the perspective of the great sphere beyond elaboration, the ground is considered primordially pure. The nature of awareness is considered spontaneously accomplished, with qualities inherently present like the sun and its rays, complete and without stain. The nature of awareness is not established as one thing, so it is considered vast and free from elaboration, indefinite. The nature of awareness is considered immutable, definite. The nature of awareness is considered capable of appearing as anything, so it is considered transformable into anything. The nature of awareness is considered the source of all phenomena of samsara and nirvana, so it is considered acceptable as anything. The nature of awareness is considered to appear without ceasing, so it is considered diverse, called variegated. These are all established by seeing one aspect of reasonability in the same awareness. As it is said in the *Thal Gyur*: The reality accomplished from descent is, also from the manner of the seven abidings, from various aspects it is spontaneously accomplished, from the measure of movement it is indefinite. From immovability it is definite.

Having. The measure of appearance can be changed at will. With commitment to arise everything. To purify delusion, in the originally pure, all appearances are regarded as variegated. Thus it is said. In the "Six Spaces" it says: The basis of the initial natural accomplishment, existence is only one, from what is not, from the aspects of delusive appearance, when determined by the realized ones, it appears as seven stages. The appearance of the seven stages is also from the way of appearance of one essence, appearing thus because of not knowing the one. However, the meaning of it is like this: In the state of natural accomplishment, it appears as essence by gathering various things. In the state of uncertainty, it appears as the image of the mind with movement. In the state of certainty abiding in its own nature, it appears as having remembrance without change. In the state of being able to be changed, it appears as the image of the striving mind. In the state of whatever essence, it appears as the essence of what appears. In the state of variegation, it appears as various forms. In the state of being pure from the beginning, it appears as being without defilement from the beginning. All of this is the sequence of the mind, the nature itself is pure from the beginning. Thus it is said. Secondly, showing that the seven bases of clinging are faulty: Like seven blind men describing an elephant, because each clings to the understanding of one aspect of wisdom, and with deeply rooted commitments, they become attached. In order to refute these views, there are seven points. First, refuting the view that it is spontaneously accomplished, divided into stating the view and refuting the view. The first part is: The place of spontaneous accomplishment, not cut off from India, nor fallen into any side. The second part is: If it is spontaneously accomplished from the beginning, then samsara will always revolve, and it is impossible to be liberated, because it is spontaneously accomplished. Nirvana also does not depend on the causes and conditions such as knowing one's own nature, because from the beginning Nirvana is spontaneously accomplished. It is also unreasonable to say that the basis of these two is spontaneously accomplished, because if it is spontaneously accomplished, it will not change, therefore samsara and nirvana cannot arise. Or, anyone will be liberated effortlessly, because cause and effect are spontaneously accomplished from the beginning. If so, then cause and effect become simultaneous. If you admit it, then it is clear that when the cause is samsara, the result is not nirvana. If these two are one, then samsara becomes nirvana, and nirvana becomes samsara, because these two are one.
