of the body. In the center is the mark of the letter A (Tibetan: ཨ, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: a, literal Chinese meaning: A), and the hair between the eyebrows emits light, measuring one fathom in length. The hair knot appears to be lifted by the wind. From the fingers of the peaceful body, chains of light interweave and entwine. This is the activity of the silent mind, and from the palace of the skull on the head, Herukas manifest. At this time, one's own body reaches its limit, and is the indivisible union of the three kayas. Thus it is said. Third, the mind reaching its limit is: the all-perceiving mind, intellect, and consciousness disappear, and the non-conceptual mind, self-awareness, becomes clear, thus knowing the minds of others, and the six superknowledges, and the eyes that are separated by obscurations, such as the other side, and the eyes that see the immeasurable pure Buddhafields, that is, the mind of appearance is completely purified, and the mind of emptiness is purified, thereby attaining mastery over immeasurable wisdom and samadhi. That same tantra says: At this time, the mind is clear, and the six superknowledges, and distant and hidden dharmas, are known in an instant. Immeasurable Buddhafields, and likewise the Buddha's body, appear in the mind. On the empty mind, defilements cease, the self-nature is unmoving, and emptiness and clarity are attained. Unmixed, equally complete, pervading the dharmadhatu. The clarity of appearance is not separate from multiplicity, without parts, therefore without elaboration. Thus it is said. Fourth: The limit of the severance of the connection between body and mind is the purification of the gross body, thereby purifying the channels and winds. Because of this purification, the collection of body and mind that suddenly gathered disintegrates, thus severing the connection. The subtle aspect of awareness, the mind that is merely latent, appears for an instant like a shooting star, but vanishes into the dharmadhatu, thus severing the continuity of all arising karma. Here, the collection of body, speech, and mind that generates and enters samsara, transforms from manifestation into an extremely subtle latent state, from the merely existing latent part, it becomes like a shooting star streaking across. This is the moment of holding onto the two aspects of appearance. Also, from the Consequence School it says: In such moments of appearance, the severance of the connection between body and mind is, on the body with exhausted outflows, also the mind with the characteristic of arising outwards appears, also in the manner of a shooting star streaking across, it is seen clearly in the realm of space. In those initial moments, also from the wind and encounters, striving to purify the activity of the wind, from outside the body.

It arises from the Victorious One. Even from the aspect of the three that see, the body is clear and radiant. The prana is like sparks flying. It does not abide in one place, the basis of self-illumination. It appears in the manner of two appearances. This severs the connection between body and mind, and is not a reversal of the three realms. Thus it is said. Furthermore, for rigpa, the subtle prana like sparks flying acts as the mount for the subtle mind, and serves as the support for the unceasing appearance of samsara. Rigpa itself has the inherent radiance of wisdom, and the vision of nirvana does not cease, therefore it holds the two appearances. It appears like holding both ends of a long lasso. This also arises from the aspect of having the gate of spontaneous accomplishment. Fifth, the level of self-liberation of the result is called the result because it is similar to the actual result. Like when crops flourish in autumn, even though they have not yet fully matured into grain, they are properly placed as grain. Similarly, when the body dissolves into light, the appearance expands into the pure lands, so it is called the fruit of seeing the self-appearance of the three kayas. Rigpa is the manifestation of the ground rigpa, entering the path, so it appears as the kaya. From nearing the exhaustion of the path, the mandalas are perfected. The level is the perfection of the mandala of the kaya. Arriving is appearing in various forms without transcending it. These are like the appearance of the full moon, and because of the increase and decrease, the self-nature cannot be altered. The appearance of the exhaustion of dharmata is like the moon waning from fullness, the body dissolving and reaching the bindu, and so forth, appearing definitely in the first ground. Regarding this, there are three: the general explanation of the nature of exhaustion, the specific establishment of reasons, and the conclusion with attainment. First, when the moon wanes and there is nothing in the empty sky, the appearance of the moon seems to diminish, but just as it did not increase greatly from the beginning, nor did it decrease, so the appearance of rigpa did not increase greatly when it increased, nor did it decrease when it decreased, but went to dissolve into its own essence, like gathering the light of crystal within, without fullness or decrease. This is because the external appearance dissolves into the dharmadhatu, the appearance, which is a phenomenon, dissolves into dharmata, and dharmata is inconceivable and inexpressible in any way, so it is called the exhaustion of dharmata. Relative to the absence of appearance, it is called exhaustion. It is called emptiness. It is called non-existence. It is a word that transcends terms. This principle
