Meaning: Wisdom's self-appearance, Dharmakaya, is pure like the sky; Unfabricated awareness is equal to the limit of the sky; Conduct is in the empty realm, without grasping, naturally liberated in its own place. The meaning is to abide in one's own nature, in a state of meditative stillness; Unreal self-appearance is the essence of all mandalas; Immutable self-awakening is the realm of all dharmata. Thus it is said. In the Kun Byed, it says: O great Bodhisattva! All dharmas are of the nature of the sky; The sky has no nature; The sky has no example; The sky has no limit. All these dharmas, Without exception, Understand their meaning in this way. Thus it is said. Thus, the meaning closely illustrated by example is self-awareness, equal to space, Bodhicitta. It is not an object of thought, it transcends expression and speech, Self-luminous, unmoving, a vast expanse of clear light. Unmade, spontaneously accomplished, without wide or narrow, high or low, The Dharmakaya, the heart essence of Bodhichitta, is a vast mandala. Self-born wisdom is spontaneously accomplished as the heart essence of the Dharmakaya, therefore it is free from thought, speech, and elaboration. In Self-Arisen it says: The unthinkable Dharmakaya is free from elaboration, In the Buddha's wisdom, the nature of reality, The essence of the unthinking Buddha is clear. In the great self-purified realm without grasping, The awareness of Vajrasattva is clear. In the clear and pure wisdom of emptiness, The nature of reality without characteristics is clear. Thus it is said. In the Root Tantra of the Sound Transcendence, it says: Because it is free from action, it is complete by completion. Because it is free from extremes, it does not abide in the center. Because it is completely perfect, it is free from dedication. Because there is nothing left over, it is not a part. It is not one, the two extremes are exhausted. It does not appear as many, it transcends one. Because it is unspeakable, it is the basis of words. Free from substance, the emptiness Meaning of the heart essence. Not falling into any direction, it is the meaning of the view. Thus it is said. In the Kun Byed, it says: This view and conduct of Dzogchen, Is not like cause and effect practice. This view and conduct, Bodhichitta, Is of the nature of the sky. The sky transcends thought and analysis, Whoever thinks and analyzes, Will not accomplish Bodhi like the sky. In the nature of view and conduct, the sky, Whoever grasps and apprehends, Will not accomplish the Bodhi of the sky. Grasping and apprehending, the two arise, is delusion and obscuration. Just as the sky is without duality, Bodhi is without duality. Whoever makes it dual, Will not accomplish the Bodhi of the sky. View and conduct, the two arise, is delusion and obscuration. Bodhi, the sky.

is its nature. In the sky, there is no acceptance or rejection. Whoever engages in acceptance and rejection will not achieve the sky of enlightenment. Acceptance and rejection are veils of delusion. The nature of the sky of enlightenment is such that in the sky, there is no effort or accomplishment. Whoever engages in effort and accomplishment will not achieve the sky of enlightenment. Effort and accomplishment are veils of delusion. The nature of the sky of enlightenment is such that in the sky, there is no cause and effect. Whoever views the two as cause and effect will not achieve the sky of enlightenment. Viewing cause and effect is a veil of delusion. Thus it is. Thus, the definitive reasoning that the nature of awareness, the mind of enlightenment, is like the sky, pure, boundless, and without bias, is: its sign is that everything arises from its potential. At the time of arising, there is no place of arising or one who arises. If one examines it merely as the name "arising," it is like the sky. It is complete in the great equality of non-discrimination. It is the expanse of openness, free from grasping and holding. The way in which things arise from the state of awareness is unceasing, like the reflection of the sky in a clear ocean. Although it appears to arise in various ways, in reality, there is no place of arising or one who arises. Therefore, it is repeated in the empty, vanishing, non-discriminating Dharmakaya. With the reasoning of the great equality of non-discrimination, it is possible to establish that the nature of mind is like the sky. The essence of awareness, the Dharmata, can be expressed in terms that transcend thought and speech, like the unborn sky. Because in the state where you and the essence are one, the mind that arises from its potential has no essence to grasp, and like the sky, it is primordially empty and free from elaboration. From Self-Arising it says: The nature of reality, without grasping, is the realm of self-luminous bliss. Without thought, pervading the sky, it enjoys all of reality. The nature of reality, without grasping, is pure in its own place. The self-liberation without thought is the power of bliss. The self-appearance without distraction pervades all. The true nature of reality descends upon the ground of great bliss. And in the All-Creating Tantra it says: Its sign is the imputed Bodhicitta. Sanskrit Romanization: kalpita bodhicitta, Literal Chinese meaning: imputed Bodhicitta). Thus it is. All of these also teach that awareness arises and is liberated from the object, awakened in non-discrimination, and thus is complete in the state of the sky and ocean of reality. In the Lion's Perfected Power it says: Reality is the sky, free from names. Without an object of characteristics, self-appearance is like a garuda soaring. It is not fabricated, self-knowing awareness is held in bliss. In the self-born, free from elaboration, ocean of reality, there is no object of characteristics, it transforms into a golden fish. Self-appearance is the Dharmakaya, of one taste.
