Those with inferior faculties, who do not incline towards realization and the Great Dharma, say: It is sufficient to practice the Dharma of actions from the state of realizing the nature of reality. Do you not desire to obtain the fruit of that (Dharma practice), which is happiness? The answer: You yourselves divide all dharmas that arise equally in the face of awareness into good and bad. As for us, we do not abandon one of the dream-like dharmas, nor do we take one up. To abandon and take up, and to strive, is contrary to the yogi. For the yogi of the Great Perfection of Naturalness does not hope for results, nor is he a vessel for hoping for the cause and effect of striving. Therefore, it is said that (striving) is a Dharma to guide inferior vehicles and children. As it says in the *All-Creating King Tantra*: If you strive with ignorance in this way, you will contradict the meaning of transcending cause and effect, and you will not encounter the Great Bliss of Non-Action. You will be seized by the ignorance of the disease of striving. Therefore, the Great Perfection that transcends cause and effect is not the domain of those without fortune. It should be analyzed as the Dharma of cause and effect. Therefore, we arise from the scriptures in this way, and we will not contradict the scriptures. Again, that person of inferior faculties says: Since everything is equal in awareness, if it is true that there is no need to deliberately act, then doing it will accomplish it, and not doing it will not accomplish it, so it must be done! The answer: If it is not accomplished, it will not be accomplished even if you strive. If it is already accomplished, there is no need to strive. Striving is conventional truth, so for the ultimate truth of mind-essence, there is nothing to do. Moreover, the Dharmakaya is already accomplished in mind-essence. If you rest (in it), it will manifest. If you act, it will not be accomplished, just as an image appears when the water is clear, and does not appear when the water is turbid. As it says in that very tantra: Buddhahood is not accomplished by striving, but is spontaneously accomplished by abiding in the natural state without seeking. Do not seek, rest in the natural state, do not conceptualize! Therefore, striving is an obstacle to enlightenment, like erecting something that needs to be laid down. Seeking action in the non-action of mind-essence contradicts cause and effect and the ground and path, resulting in the great fault of not being accomplished. As it says in the *All-Creating King Tantra*: Having already acted, after the ignorance of transcending striving, if you contemplate striving and acting and expect to be accomplished, there is no greater obstacle to enlightenment than that. Although it is so, if (you) say that you have not yet reached that point, so you must do it, the answer is: Alas! People without good fortune, from one to another...

It is not in the itinerary, and because there is no itinerary, it is impossible to arrive. Starting from oneself to find oneself, like walking, you are truly wonderful. In our scriptures, becoming an outsider like you is regarded as an extremely despicable thing, as it is said in the tantras: Desiring happiness turns away from happiness, trapped by happiness yet seeking happiness with happiness, mistaking Bodhi for a terrible thing and indulging in worldliness, such people cannot see the Buddha. Therefore, later generations also warned to keep it secret from such people, and the tantras further say: If they have not seen my own nature, then do not preach to them the vehicle of Samantabhadra. Because they are not destined for the meaning of Mahā-Ati, let them embark on the right path of the causal vehicle. I am originally beyond all realms of activity, and for those who have no affinity for the joy of cause and effect, if I preach to them, slander and defamation will arise. If preached, it is equivalent to slandering one's own mind, and one will fall into the six realms of reincarnation, forever sinking. Therefore, even if activities related to Dharma are prohibited, and one abides in the ordinary and natural state, there is no difference in the essence of awareness from those who diligently practice Dharma. Moreover, ordinary actions and the Dharma activities I do are the same, because all the actions of a yogi have already manifested as Dharma, and the play of Dharmata is naturally accomplished. As it is said in the Garland of Pearls: If you want to realize Mahāmudrā, then eating, drinking, sleeping, and sitting are all practice, and all actions are a supreme state. Spitting and vomiting are mandalas, the three thousand worlds are mandalas, and rain and water vapor patter. The path of walking is a great target, footprints are powder paintings, the posture when wanting to walk is itself, and the movement of limbs is mudra. The words spoken are mantras, all thoughts are the generation stage, what is thought in the mind is offering, the image that appears is the body of the deity, loud speech is music, one's own body is a vase, hair is a beautiful leaf ornament, blood and pus are all water, the heart and so on are filled with substances, giving away all the visions one sees, without invitation, one is already complete. Wanting to transcend is the vow, wanting to protect is bondage, wanting to be liberated is transgression, wanting to be non-existent is the supreme conqueror.
