Alas! The six dharmas considered unnecessary are: If you have not grasped the right path, there is no need to do anything. If you have not accumulated merit, there is no need for anything. If you have not used it for Dharma, there is no need for longevity. If it is not Dharma, there is no need for others to offer help. If you have not accumulated the two accumulations, there is no need for possessions. If you have not attained enlightenment, you think there is no need for anything. The six dharmas of the guru who guides the path of liberation are: Light the lamp of wisdom for those wandering in the darkness. Guide those wandering on the edge of a cliff onto the right path. Save those carried away by the flood with the boat of great bliss. Lead those imprisoned in prison to the land of liberation. Rescue those drowning in the mud of suffering to the dry land of liberation. Cut off those bound by grasping with the sword of wisdom. Therefore, the guru should be regarded as the Buddha. The six dharmas of impermanence and destruction of conditioned phenomena are: Because causes and conditions come together, its nature is destruction. All things born earlier are sure to be destroyed by death. The environment and beings are impermanent and sure to be destroyed by change. Life is uncertain and destroyed by death. Day and night pass in an instant, so it is destroyed. The end of birth is sure to be death, so one should contemplate destruction. Then there are the six benefits of applying to the Dharma: faith, hearing, rejoicing, praising, entering, and even a little practice can create the seeds of liberation from the cycle of existence. The six benefits of practicing properly are: being respected and praised by all, being protected by the gods, having more happiness in this life, being reborn in the heavens after death, and ultimately attaining perfect enlightenment. The six faults of not having Dharma are: being obscured by ignorance, like a blind old woman. Being skilled at deceiving samsara, like a prostitute. Being distracted by meaningless things, like a drama in a market. Being skilled at enticing appearances, like a child's livelihood. Having shallow wisdom, like a child's game. The illusion that is difficult to cut off, like a grown fish. One's life is wasted on trivial matters. The six faults of falling away from the Dharma are: being despised by those inferior to oneself, having a bad reputation in the places of gods and humans, being abandoned by the holy ones like an impure vessel, being abandoned by the guardian deities and having many obstacles, wishes not being fulfilled, merit and glory declining, and experiencing the suffering of evil destinies in the future. The six faults of hoping for the future are: When you have the opportunity of leisure, if you do not practice the Dharma, your life will be wasted on the path of distraction, death is uncertain, like being struck by lightning.

Arrogance, and after death, falling into the evil realms of samsara, intense suffering tormenting body and mind, remembering regrets being extremely unbearable, residing for a long time without a time of liberation. The six fearful aspects of the place of samsara are: Thinking of the suffering of people, the mind is discouraged; thinking of the suffering of Asuras, the hair stands on end; thinking of the suffering of gods, it is dizzying; thinking of the suffering of animals, it makes one want to cry; thinking of the suffering of pretas, it is chilling; thinking of the suffering of hells, the heart trembles. Therefore, one should flee from the abodes of the six realms, and more than fleeing, one should completely cut them off. The six dharmas that liberate from them are: Abandoning the view of permanence, abandoning one's homeland, abandoning procrastination and laziness, putting aside the things of tomorrow and the day after, giving whatever one has to the Dharma, abandoning ordinary behavior, entering the tradition of the teachings, purifying evil deeds and sins with the antidote of the four powers, accumulating the two accumulations as much as possible with the ten practices of Dharma, making the preliminary, main, and subsequent practices all enter the path of Dharma, thereby quickly liberating from the place of samsara. The six kinds of errors that obstruct the Dharma are: The great person who is arrogant and distracted by pride is mistaken, the monk who engages in worldly affairs is mistaken, the teacher who wastes his life on words is mistaken, the mantra practitioner who burns his mind with the five poisons is mistaken, the great meditator who is ignorant and lives by wrong livelihood is mistaken, the ordinary person who clings to illusory appearances is mistaken. Abandoning errors and striving in the Dharma is most important. The six non-erroneous beneficial dharmas are: Listening to the compassionate instructions of the guru, trusting and relying on the words and commandments of the Buddhas, day and night, between sessions, dedicating and reciting good and evil, contemplating where one will go in the future, the cause and effect of dependent origination, abandoning attachment to the body and possessions, placing the tantras, instructions, and pith instructions on the mind. By doing so, one quickly attains Buddhahood. The six dharmas of properly and thoroughly observing are: Observing whether worldly affairs are beneficial, observing that accumulated wealth is left behind when one departs, observing that kindness is repaid with harm, observing that one departs alone from among many, observing that farming and hoarding, life and death are not under one's control, observing that power and fame are abandoned when one departs. After observing in this way, apply it inwardly to oneself. The six kinds of truly meaningful and great non-regrets are: For the sake of the Dharma, enduring hardship, even if one dies, there is no regret, being content with a humble place,
