Therefore, the truth of self-awareness wisdom is inseparable. Its nature is clear light wisdom. From beginningless time, it is the peaceful, non-elaborate "self." Like the sun in the sky, it is spontaneously accomplished, uncreated. With the great nature of self-nature purity, it abides primordially. Appearance and emptiness are inseparable, there is no establishment or removal, no going or coming. The essence of spontaneously arising awareness, the co-emergent nature, is: self-nature is pure and clear light. From beginningless time, it is the supreme self-nature without elaboration. The adornment of being filled with the mandala of qualities is: like the sun without obscuration, it does not waver from the nature of the dharmadhatu, the dharmata, like the sky. Uncreated, it abides primordially in the great spontaneously accomplished nature. The self-nature is pure, abiding in the great inseparability of appearance and emptiness. In the "Nomenclature," it says, "The self of self-nature purity, the self without elaboration from beginningless time." It also says, "Pure because it is without defilement, the supreme self because it pervades all, constant because it is without change." From the perspective of transforming the mind that sees this shore into the meaning of transcending the other shore, the Ornament of the Sutras says, "Purity, self, bliss, and constancy are the result of the qualities of the perfection of going beyond." That is to say, it is not established or posited on top of a completely new quality that did not exist before, nor is it merely the removal of the temporary, but it is impossible to remove the fault or stain of self-nature. Therefore, the departure of removing faults and the arrival of qualities do not exist, and this is the meaning of reality. One can be liberated through realization or seeing. In the Ornament of Clear Realization, it says, "Here there is nothing to be removed, nor is there anything to be established. Look at reality as it is, seeing reality is liberation." For such a nature, because it transcends the realm of conventional cessation and differentiation, therefore, transcending the imputed two truths, all elaboration is pacified. The ultimate truth is inseparable, there is no establishment or non-establishment. In the dharmadhatu, the nature of appearance and emptiness is non-dual, therefore, that ultimate truth is also said to be inseparable. For that clear light wisdom, the appearance of samsara, the conventional, is like a cloud, without touching, therefore, even the mere appearance of delusion is not established. When that is not established, the ultimate truth measured as emptiness by appearance is also not established. When those two are not established, the difference between the two truths measured by tenets is not established anywhere. When that does not exist, the two truths of falsely imputing truth and falsehood with the mind are also transcended, all elaboration is pacified, and this is the imputed.

Since the ultimate truth is not established, it is said that the truths are inseparable. Since it cannot be said that the conventional truth is established and the ultimate truth is not established, therefore, the wisdom of the luminous sphere, although it is said to be spontaneously accomplished great purity, since there are no such things as appearance and emptiness, the two truths proclaimed in the philosophical systems, it is also said that the truths are inseparable. As it is said in the Root Tantra of Magical Illusion: "Ultimate and conventional are without difference, In the great mandala of equality." Even these appearances of the two truths that are nominally established are without difference, what need is there to mention the luminous nature? For example, when the sun appears, even if dust and rain are separated, it will not diminish, and if they are not separated, it will not be brighter, because it is bright in appearance, so the sun has no such distinctions, it is only one's own conceptual mind that makes distinctions. If it existed, worldly people would also see it, because seeing the sun, it is reasonable to see the two truths that exist in the sun, just as when seeing the sun, it is clear to see the light that exists in the sun. So, if the two truths that are proclaimed in name are combined with this, how are the two truths established? The answer is, only as symbols and according to the gateway, if they are established as branches of understanding symbols, then, if the two conventional truths are distinguished by reason, just like this, all the phenomena of illusory samsara, because they are untrue and deceptive, are the conventional truth. The phenomena of profound peace, luminosity, and nirvana, the unchanging nature, are considered the ultimate truth. Like this, the obscurations of the essence of meaning, luminosity, the alaya consciousness, the eight consciousnesses of various habits, the appearances of habits, the appearances of various objects such as external forms, and all the aspects of the inner mind, because they are samsara, are deceptive and have no essence, so they are established as the conventional truth. And the ground luminosity, spontaneously accomplished, is established as the ultimate truth. For example, like clouds and the sun, the place obscured, luminosity, is the ultimate truth, and the obscuring phenomena of samsara, the aggregates, elements, and sense bases, are the conventional truth. Such obscurations appear but are not established, so luminosity is not stained, because distinction requires mixing, so there is no mixing into one and different, so it is established as the truths being inseparable, just like this, the various appearances in the conventional, like illusion, water moon, emanation, and reflection, whatever appears without self-nature, if observed carefully, is the ground.
