Those who distinguish all knowable dharmas by the two truths, prevent the proliferation of existence and non-existence, the ultimate truth is naturally pure, and although the dharmas such as cause and effect are established without being mixed in the conventional truth, they are still attached to the commitment to establish their own side. Therefore, it can only be established outside the Madhyamaka of ultimate non-objectification. This has two types: lower and upper Svatantrika. The former, in general, the Mind-Only school is known as the lower Svatantrika, but if we distinguish the treatises that do not accept knowable self-awareness as the ultimate truth, then the appearance of the nature of illusion, emptiness by nature, is accepted as the ultimate truth, and not accepting these two is divided into upper and lower parts. Since the Yogacara school considers the ground to be Svatantrika, it is just that the meaning of the tenets has not been understood. The teacher Ocean Cloud and others believe that all dharmas are empty by nature, and exist in the nature of illusion in the nature of both truths. The conventional truth is non-existent, but only an appearance made up of causes and conditions. In the illusory appearance, the nature as it appears is true in terms of its ability to function in name. In the ultimate truth, due to the reversal of the conceptual thoughts on the conventional truth, causes and conditions and non-causes and conditions are empty of the proliferation of names, words, and letters, but the aspect of appearing in interdependence like an image is not interrupted, so it is called illusion. For example, the appearance of objects of appearance in meditation, such as form, etc., although they appear, the appearance of the cessation of the proliferation of one and different is just an illusory appearance. Therefore, accumulating the two accumulations like illusions, obtaining the fruit of enlightenment like an illusion, and constantly abiding in the nature of illusion is samadhi, and activities arise in the manner of illusion, accomplishing the meaning of sentient beings like illusions. If it is not like this, if it is true in the ultimate truth, or if there is nothing, then the path and liberation, effort and attainment will become meaningless. No matter how much emptiness and so on are spoken, but since the appearing things are interdependent dharmas, even if they appear, all dharmas are only true as illusions. Therefore, in this regard, with the order of acceptance and rejection, both the temporary and ultimate meanings of oneself and others should be accomplished. It is also said in the Sutra: All dharmas are like dreams and illusions.

Alas! Nirvana is also like a dream, like an illusion. If there is a dharma that is even more superior than Nirvana, I would say that it is also like a dream, like an illusion. In the Sutra of the Noble King of Samadhi, it is also said: The ultimate truth is like a dream, and Nirvana is also like a dream. Whoever, like a wise person, understands this, that is said to be the supreme taming of the mind. Just as in front of many beings, magicians conjure up various forms such as horses, elephants, and chariots, although they are not real, they appear in various ways. All dharmas should be understood in the same way. In the Hevajra Tantra, it is said: The nature is unborn from the beginning, neither false nor true, just as all are like the moon in water. Yoginis of desire should know this. As it is said, everything is considered as two aspects of illusion. The impure illusion is that it appears in the relative truth, but has no real nature in the ultimate truth, because it ceases when the path is completed, because it abandons all clinging to reality. The pure illusion is that it appears on the path, and by meditating on its lack of self-nature, the nature of the fruit, the Dharmakaya and the Rupakaya, is inseparable, appearing but without self-nature, residing in Akanishta in the form of illusion, from which emanations like illusions arise. These are also, in the relative truth, illusions clinging to causes and conditions, and the ultimate illusion is that from the appearance of dependent origination, it is liberated from the proliferation of one and many, appearing but without proliferation or expression, and it is considered that this is the reality of abiding. There are three refutations to this: the nature is meaningless, illusion is not established before awareness, and it is not the intention of the Victorious Ones. First, the nature of illusion is appearance without self-nature, and since it is no different from the ultimate truth and self-nature, the ultimate truth should become something that arises and ceases, because illusion is something that arises and ceases, because from mantras and pieces of wood and pebbles, horses and elephants appear to be born in an instant, just like their destruction. Second, the definition of illusion is not established, because if measured by ultimate reason, and examined and analyzed by time and conjunction, and by permanence and momentariness, then no dharma can be established. This is the nature of illusion.
