So. Then, on the night of the fourteenth, in the gathering of the Sangha, the newly ordained monks requested the Khenpo (Upadhyaya) and the teacher with disciples to explain the Vinaya. The teacher with disciples said: If a person has no eyes, nose, and ears, what is the use of a mirror? Even if I explain the Vinaya, you will not practice according to the Vinaya. What is the use of explaining to those who do not uphold the Dharma and Vinaya? After saying that, the Arhat, like the roar of a lion, said: Since receiving the Dharma and Vinaya of the Blessed One Buddha, I have not violated even the slightest precept until now. Do not say that, but explain the Vinaya. The Khenpo (Upadhyaya) and the teacher with disciples, knowing that he was an Arhat, felt very ashamed and sat in silence. Then, a disciple of the teacher with disciples, a monk named Dpung-gyan, stood up from his seat and said to the Arhat: You have no Vinaya and do not understand the Vinaya. Why do you despise my Khenpo (Upadhyaya) who is proficient in the three Pitakas? After saying that, he angrily beat the Arhat and killed him. Then, the Yaksha Zho-gdong, who loves the sacred Dharma, appeared holding a vajra and said to the monk Dpung-gyan: Why did you kill the Arhat? After saying that, he struck him with the vajra and killed him. A monk named Ge-rad killed the Khenpo (Upadhyaya) and the teacher with disciples. Then, all the monks killed each other, leaving no one behind. At that time, the gods, nagas, and other Dharma protectors in the sky were unhappy, and the tears of their weeping fell on that land like rain of blood and fire. The sky also turned yellow, black, and red. Lightning and great sounds occurred. A black smoke arose from the body of a star called Dhumaketu, and the light of the sun, moon, and other celestial bodies disappeared. The gods of the Thirty-Three Realms and the Great Illusion Mother, etc., came and mourned, collected all the weapons of the Sangha, and took them to the Thirty-Three Realms. Then, the king asked what caused such a great commotion. They replied: The Sangha clashed and killed each other, leaving no one behind. The king, displeased, stood up and went to the outer temple the next morning to see the monks. Some were beheaded, some had their limbs cut off, and some had their eyes gouged out. Seeing the various atrocities, he felt sorrow.

The aged Arhat sought a Pudgala with three pitakas and disciples, whose right and left armpits were the treasury of Dharma. After these two passed away, henceforth my life is no longer precious. He said, "I will give the kingdom to whoever wants it," and then he closed his eyes and did not look. Then, in order to dispel the king's sorrow, the ministers, then, in order to dispel the king's sorrow, the ministers disguised five hundred people as monks, and when they shaved their hair and beards, the knives could not cut them, so they burned them with fire, put on the skins of red livestock, and came before the king, and reported that five hundred monks had come. The king was pleased and opened his eyes to look, and saw that everyone was wearing the skins of livestock, and their hair and beards were burned by fire, so he ordered them to bring the implements for offering to the Three Jewels, and made offerings to them. After that, the king asked them about the Dharma, but they could not answer a single word, and the king also cried in sorrow. After that, they collected the corpses of the monks and made offerings. At that time, the holy Dharma of Jambudvipa gradually declined. After that, gold turned into inferior silver and stone, silver turned into inferior copper and stone, copper turned into brass, and pearls turned into coral. Of the six tastes, only salty and sour remained. Thus it is said. In the prophecies of the increase of the Sangha, etc., the sacred objects, etc., are invited to the land of the Nagas. All letters become self-existent, all clothes become rough, and all jewels except salty and astringent tastes decline, and that king also dies from the sorrow of the decline of the Dharma. These are also said with the premise that the Dharma exists for two thousand years. In the commentary on the Ornament of Clear Realization, the teacher of Dharma said that these had already happened before, so it is clear. In general, the causes of the decline of the Dharma are the exhaustion of the Buddha's aspiration and the exhaustion of the beings to be tamed by the Dharma. The conditions are, as said in the sutras, that practitioners retreat from their own views and practices, patrons' faith in the Dharma diminishes, and the gods of demons and the demon race, and the dance of pretas is cut off, these three cause decline.
