No matter how much food and drink is offered, there is no sense of satisfaction in the heart. Instead, greed is insatiable, and they open their hands and claws to snatch food. Then there is the thirteenth group, belonging to the category of local deities and non-humans, including all those who possess great power and authority in the snowy land of Tibet, control war and plunder, and belong to the ranks of human leaders and officials. Generally speaking, including the three districts of Ngari in the upper part, the four Rus of U-Tsang in the middle part, and the six Gangs of Do-Kham in the lower part, as well as all regions in the world that belong to the great changes of the degenerate age. Domestic and foreign wars are frequent, and the unbearable intense force erupts, the weapons of the degenerate age clash with each other underground, above ground, and in the air. Before obtaining the next life, while in the state of Bardo (Tibetan: བར་མ་དོ།, meaning: the intermediate state between two lives), due to various illusions, one repeatedly and involuntarily arises in uncertain places. To all those miserable beings who have no support in anything, and whose minds are wearied by the illusions of reversal and various terrifying forms, I hereby, through the power of mantra, mudra, and samadhi, offer this great and complete offering of Torma (Tibetan: གསུར།, meaning: a type of offering), providing all that is needed in an inexhaustible manner, equally and without discrimination to all beings in the Bardo state, dedicating it with pure intention. May this benefit the beings of the Bardo as it is, transforming illusions into wisdom, obtaining a good rebirth, and swiftly attaining supreme liberation through the compassionate power of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Recite the Three Syllables (Tibetan: འབྲུ་གསུམ།), twenty-one Sambharas (Tibetan: སཾ་བྷ་ར།), and recite the Four Names. I dedicate and offer this inexhaustible Torma to all beings in the vast realm who are in the Bardo state, especially to those spirits who cause disturbances, bring diseases and plagues, and to all Gandharvas (Sanskrit: Gandharva) who look at the living with the eyes of the dead. May their individual wishes be fulfilled, may they obtain endless enjoyment, may they benefit all beings, and may they be controlled by the precious Bodhicitta. If one needs to recite a hundred thousand Tormas, one should accumulate Sambharas to a hundred thousand times in this way. If dedicating specifically to deceased relatives, recite the Three Syllables, twenty-one Sambharas, and recite the Four Names as above. Dedicate this offering, which possesses the five qualities of Torma and is complete with all desired enjoyments, to all deceased relatives, male or female, who have passed away due to death, being killed, or other causes yesterday, today, or this morning, and who are now in the Bardo state, having abandoned the previous life and not yet obtained the next, separated from a physical body, existing in a mental body, nourished by scent, experiencing various illusions, and holding expectations towards us. May their individual shares of enjoyment be fulfilled, and may they obtain an inexhaustible treasure of all that they desire.
